In a political system superintended and galvanized by anarchy and inherited norms, transformations and variations are inevitable. The origin of such system began with the “Peace of Westphalia,” marking the termination of the 30 years war, and was the prominent beginning of the modern international system of where in which Nation States are of the highest institution. This was the end of the ‘Holy Roman Empire’ (of that wasn’t holy nor Roman) and the incalculable scores of religious based wars that plagued the world for a power struggle for territory and valuable natural resources.
Post World War II was some of the best times in the United States; from economic growth to numerous job increase, and advancements into the technology helm, the United States was in great state. Prior to World War II, the state of World Politics consisted of a ‘post World War I collective security’ notion that transpired until 1939. United States President Wildrow Wilson conceived this ideology as a better way of the current balance of power. Collective security is the approach to in that a global coalition of states agrees to act collectively to repel aggression against any other state in the international system (Bova). In the text it states “Wilson related collective security around to his expectation that democratic governments based on the principle of popular sovereignty were the wave of the future”(Bova). World War II was fought between two main opposing forces, the Allies and the Axis forces. The Axis powers consisted of Germany, Italy, and Japan being the most dominant. On the other hand, some of the countries in the Allied powers were Great Britain, the United States, France, Australia, New Zealand, India, the Soviet Union, Canada, and Greece.

In fact he declared America as neutral in the war on August 4, 1914 (Nash, 496). Many Americans especially young men had forgotten the hardship of war. In the days of the Second World War, the United States was thrusted into being the primary provider of supplies whether it was food or steel. This presented many challenges; how would the U.S. truly get out of the great depression? How would the country amply provide a work force in a world where males dominated the labor industry, the same males that would go off to fight the war? To answer these questions, we must look at several sources such as Roosevelt's famous fireside chats, how the U.S. population at home aided the war effort and the role of minorities.
Though the United States was the military power of the world prior to World War II, its foreign policy was one of detachment. The government was determined not to get involved in other countries affairs barring unusual circumstances. A World War provided big enough means to become involved, as many Americans became enraged with the military ambitions of Japan and Germany.
The turn of the twentieth century brought about changes in all aspects of American domestic society and especially in the course of U.S. Foreign Policy. The factors leading up to American involvement in the Spanish-American War of 1898 and in World War II, respectively, mark drastic shifts in domestic attitudes towards America’s role in the world. Ostensibly, the decisions to intervene in Cuba in 1898 and in Europe in 1917 were both products of aggressions against Americans at sea, endangered economic interests, and the fear of European encroachment upon the Western Hemisphere. Domestically, however, the hyper masculinity and expansionist fervor precipitating the U.S. decision to intervene in Cuba contrasts sharply with the reform-driven decision-making process which preceded U.S. entry into WWI. Both cases of military intervention constitute acts of imperialism, albeit in different senses, as the underlying goal of the United States’ 1898 intervention in Cuba was physical expansion, while America’s longstanding quest for an Ideological Empire was born with entrance into WWI.
The article discusses the social changes that came with World War two. Women and Native Americans started working, taking jobs from African Americans. Thus, Roosevelt issued the FEPC to expose racist practices and employ minorities and migrants. As civil rights become more of an issue, discrimination increased. Japanese were sent to internment camps, Hispanics were attacked, and Indians lost their rights to vote. The NAACP, along with other African American militancy organizations, fought against this unjust treatment. Truman continued the campaign against segregation. The Treaty of Versailles was the reason why the First World War ended between the Allied Powers and Germany. (history.com). During this time, the United States wanted as little involvement with Europe’s controversies. Meanwhile, the United States did not know at the time that Japan was a threat to our country because of unresolved issues prior to Pearl Harbor. (history.com). The common denominator between both of our countries in this era was that we were both in financial crises. In unit three of Nation of Nations, there were many social/cultural and political issues that affected the Jews in Germany and the Japanese in America. The social/cultural groups were roused due to the conflicts arising over ethnic backgrounds, race, and class differences. The Jews and Japanese faced discrimination in both countries whether they were born there or not. (Davidson, 2008)

World War II was a horrible event that will be remembered as one of the darkest Points in human history. With estimates of deaths ranging from 60 to 80 million, it is unthinkable to imagine that this chaos was allowed to grow and erupt as it did. Many Americans in the United States, simply thought the madness in Europe would be contained to that continent. However, a new enemy brought the war to our shores.
The realist school of thought stands for anarchy and fighting for its own selfish reasons to preserve the nation's interest. Back in December 7th, 1941 after the Japanese air force attack to Pearl Harbor in Hawaii, America’s military was caught by surprise bringing out the attention of the whole nation against Japan. President Harry S. Truman, made the decision in 1945 to attack Japan with nuclear bombs first to Hiroshima and then three day later to Nagasaki. Days later, Japan surrender, and World War II was drawn into a close. Realist scholars say that the decision made was unnecessary. The death among the two cities were around 200,000, in Hiroshima there were 90,000 deaths, and Nagasaki had 37,000 death this is without counting the
