I jumped out of bed on today, June 19, eagerly waiting when I would finally arrive at the Channel Islands National Park. I have been researching this park for some time, and I couldn’t believe that I was going to spend a few days on these wonderful islands. I got together my tent and my supplies, and I sooner or later headed out the door.
The boat arrived bright and early, and I spent this time going over research. I read that this park became a National Park on March 5, 1980. It became a national park due to it attracting many explorers, scientists, and historians. It is also established because of its natural beauty. To conclude, I read that there are nine islands, but only five became part of the National Park. When the boat reached the

Today I decided that I wanted to go to Anacapa Island. I knew that there’s a lot of history here, and I was excited to learn new things. I saw many beautiful things when I reached this island. There was a lighthouse on the top of a hill, and I basically ran towards the lighthouse in excitement. I pulled out my sheets of research to read about this old monument. I read that it was completed in 1932 to help guide sailors through the channels in the foggy weather. I became stunned that a single lighthouse can do so much for people. I decided that this was the only thing that I truly wanted to see on Anacapa Island, so I am going to take a boat to Santa …show more content…
This is the campsite on Santa Barbara Island. A deer mouse scurried out of my tent as I was getting ready for bed. This endangered species interested me greatly. As I arose that morning, I enjoyed the sound of waves. I decided to go to Santa Rosa for my last day in the Channel Islands National Park. I took an early boat to this island. I was mournful that I couldn’t go to all five islands, but I knew that I can’t extend my trip.
When I got off of the boat, I headed to a historic site that I had read about. This place was called Vail and Vickers Island Ranch. It is about 100 years old and it used to hold 3,000 to 7,000 cattle at a time! For the rest of the day, I just kind of wandered around the green filled trails.
When I arrived on the boat home, I was very unhappy to be leaving this national park. I had such a good time! I realized then why these beautiful islands are a national treasure. I got a chance to walk where early Europeans did. Also, all five islands have unique landmarks and animals that no other place has. Lastly, the views are breathtaking. I felt so pleased that I got to visit this national park, and I hope that I can come back
Most of the big shore places were closed now and there were hardly any lights except the shadowy, moving glow of a ferryboat across the sound. And as the moon rose higher the inessential houses began to melt away until gradually I became aware of the old island here that flowered once for Dutch sailors’ eyes- a fresh, green breast of the new
Barrier Islands are very so hard to protect, therefore, there should be different kinds of information that would help the community distant from these Coast's to commit to preserving a Barrier Island. first of all historically these barrier islands have been hard to protect because the links between them an inshore ecosystems are poorly recognized. some of the ways resolve this issue include putting signs up roads that lead to the coast, putting Billboards up making tissue blown up on a big board, sending mass text out like they do with Amber Alerts, creating symbols or texts on the roads themselves like we have with turn signals, putting more information on local channels for TV, putting Flyers up at local restaurants or bars,

Barrier Island is a low edge of sand that is parallel to the mainland with a distance of 2 to 19 miles’ off the shoreline, 300 barrier islands border the shore of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, to Padre Island, Texas. The barrier island defends the coast from the full power of storm waves. In the central of the barrier island and the mainland is a peaceful lagoon or a bay. Few barrier islands are initiated as spits that were then detached from the inland by upsurge corrosion, rising of sea level resulting
This lighthouse stood at San Diego Bay entrance for 36 years. On November 15, 1855 the Light Keeper climbed the winding staircase and lit the light for the very first time, but when the light burnt out the keeper moved away to where the new Point Loma is. The new Point Loma is near the shore for people to go up and spot some animals. Do you wonder why it was called “Old Point Loma”. Well they called it that because it reminded people of simpler times, when there was sailboats and oil lamps. After the keeper moved away construction began 3 years later. The workers carved sandstone to make the walls, and they used old spanish ruins for the floor tiles. The lighthouse was home to David and Jeanne Israel’s grandfather. Captain Robert Decatur Israel. He was born on June 2, 1871, he assisted his dad as “ Assistant Keeper” that's what he called it. When his father died he took over as Lighthouse Keeper. When the light burnt out the re-lite it in 1984 for the first time in 93 years. The National Park Service also had its 130th birthday and over 3000 people and over 100 descendents of the Israel. David’s mother could remember as a child that she had to walk to school. His Grandfather use to tell her stories that he would have to 1871, he assisted his dad as “ Assistant Keeper” that's what he called it. When his father died row his boat all the way across the bay. They went from the lighthouse to old town San Diego Monday thru Friday. What are you waiting for, start
I am taking solar cells to the Ellesmere Island, Canada. Ellesmere island is the third largest island in Canada and the 10th largest island in the world. It is Canada’s most northerly area that located in Nunavut and it is the most northerly island in the Arctic Archipelago. This polar desert is an ideal location for solar panels because of its extreme thermal oasis climate. (The Editors of Encyclopædia Britannica 2013)
Today the island stands as a top tourist attraction in America. The island has a Immigration Museum. On the island there's a self-guided tour around the Island to see everything you wish.
Aruba is an island of amazing contrasts. Maximum individuals are acquainted with the luxurious resorts set along white sand beaches. However, within just some miles of the immaculate beaches and tranquil waters, there is a cosmic array of unique environs and tourist sites, from the limestone cliffs and booming waves found at the California Lighthouse to the strange rock formations of Ayo and Casibari. Many such places rest along a dirt road that embraces the northern shore of Aruba, a place of natural splendor and extraordinary Caribbean views. Rested on a hilltop at the island's northernmost point, the California Lighthouse offers visitors some of the superlative views in Aruba. Though the lighthouse is only a short drive from Oranjestad,
By the summer of 1940, the British army had suffered in the Battle of France, retreating back to Britain to defend the mainland from German troops. The Germans pressed forward as Hitler desired any piece of British soil to use as propaganda to show the might of the German forces. The Germans invaded the demilitarized Channel Islands on June 28, 1940 leading to a new reality of life for the islanders. Multiple perspectives exist on the British neglect of the Channel Islands. Channel Islands Invaded by Simon Hamon shows how German brutality encompassed the lives of the islanders after the British failed to defend them.

After what seemed like an eternity of waiting for our trip to commence, we finally arrived on the dreamy island. Rather than staying at a hotel, we rented a beach house that was supposedly only a six minute walk from Marco Island Beach. While pulling up to the magnificent home, I was holding back tears of joy. The pale grayish-blue house looked like it had jumped right out of a framed photograph hanging up in the waiting room of a doctor's office. Among it’s

Wonder, vastness, unsullied nature, and untouched beauty: all words that describe national parks across the planet. One such place, a series of islands about 600 miles off the coast of Ecuador, became officially recognized as an Ecuadorian National Park in 1959, and later a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979 (Galapagos Islands Geology & Volcanoes, n.d.). None other than the Galapagos Islands themselves, the park is perhaps one of, if not the most captivating National Parks on the globe. When one hears “Galapagos Islands,” the ecological diversity is often the first association brought to mind. While it holds true that the islands contain possibly one of the most diversified bionomics in the world, its geological history is just as
