In my honors language arts class, we are reading the novella, The Call of The Wild.
To be honest, The Call of The Wild, was probably not my favorite book I have ever read, but it was still entertaining and exciting. It was about a dog, Buck, that was taken from is home to be sold as a sled dog, in Alaska, during the Klondike Gold Rush. Also, about Buck meeting new people and concurring struggles he had never faced before.
Chapter 1, consist of Buck being taken from his home and sold to a complete strangers. He learns that something bad and different is going to happen.the worst part of the first chapter, was that Buck is treated so cruelly and is in such poor conditions. For example, Buck was kept in a cage the entire time, and rarely had water or been feed. Another bad thing in this chapter, is that it was confusing to understand and read.
The second chapter, was mixed emotions.

The worst parts of chapter 5, are one, the entire sled team were sold to new people. Two, Billie, one of the sled dog members, was falling in the traces, so the person decided to shot or kill him.
The best part of chapter 5, was that it was easier for me to read and understand.
The sixth chapter was my favorite chapter out of all seven of them. Mainly because it was the most positive, like saving his owner three times. The best save he did at of all of them, was when he jumped into the the raped lake. To save his owner, John Thorten.
The seventh chapter, contains brudel actions, like John and his men being captured and killed by natives. Although that was sad, I was also very happy that Buck got to stay in the wild, where he belongs. But most of all, this was the last chapter of the book, The Call of The Wild.
The conflicts of the book are when Buck is taken from his home, Buck kills Spitz, John Thorton gets Buck, when Thorton is killed by the yeehat tribe, and when Buck joins the
the end. I enjoyed this book because I thought the story was strong and inspiring. There were

He began again to daze off staring at the fire and imagining the hairy man crouched down in the summer sun. The Call of the Wild written by Jack London is an adventure book that follows the life of a once tamed dog known as Buck to a dog that has retrogressed to a more primitive state during the Yukon Gold Rush. Buck who eventually answered the call of the wild had to go through many difficulties to get there. The theme power of the primitive is reinforced by the retrogression of a dog despite the love of mankind.
My favorite chapter so far was chapter five because Salamano tells Meursault why he bought his dog in the first place. That story made me so sad it was good to know the backstory. The rest of the book has very little emotion and that story is a nice change of pace and topic. That chapter ends with my favorite quote from the whole book so far. Salamano says, “I hope the dogs don’t bark tonight. I always think it’s mine.” I’ve read this quote over and over again and I think I like it because it shows such longing and disappointment. I wonder if Raymond feels the same way about the woman he
Chapter five is one of my all-time favorite chapters as far as learning about the different sex’s and how different they actually are. As amazing as chapter five was, I’ll admit I was extremely disappointed with chapter six. I found it hard to focus and stay connected with what it was discussing. Chapter six did not really make me question anything, like chapter five
Call of the Wild A major theme in The Call of The Wild is that one must adapt to survive, which buck does throughout the entire book. At the beginning of the book, Buck sees he needs to begin to assimilate to his surroundings. First, Buck learns, not everything is perfect, nor is everyone. For example, he sees that Manuel isn’t perfect when he steals and sells him so he can have money for the Chinese Lottery.
Call of the wild was a very good book. I like how the book described how Buck had changed over the course of the book. I don’t like how Buck always was getting beat in the story. I also like how Buck took lead of the pack when he killed Spitz. It was sad when John Thornton died at the end.
I liked chapter 7 of Call of the wild because,Buck starts to act like a wolf. And Buck is strong as could be. Plus Buck is a very smart animal for a dog. Also I think Buck is a very great dog so far that I have read about him. And that Buck is learning how to be a wolf like he always wanted to be.
The book I selected to read during this semester is the literary classic The Call of the Wild, a 1903 novel by award-winning author Jack London. I chose to read this story because it is a classic novel and the heroic tone of the novel appealed to me. The novel tells of an initially pampered dog, Buck, and the progression of his tendency to revert to the inner instincts of fierce violence and extreme competition instilled in him. In the process, Buck goes through several different masters before finally landing with the right one. The Call of the Wild is made interesting by the literary devices used in the novel, the simple and robust tone used by London, and the process that the protagonist Buck undergoes in reverting back to his
The Call of the Wild, on the surface, is a story about Buck, a four- year old dog that is part Shepherd and part St. Bernard. More importantly, it is a naturalistic tale about the survival of the fittest in nature. Throughout the novel, Buck proves that he is fit and can endure the law of the club, the law of the fang, and the laws of nature.
I thought this was an amazing book. My favorite parts were when he killed Spitz, when he attacked the guys, and when he found John Thornton. The parts I didn’t like was when the men beat Buck, and when the huskies came and ate all the men’s food.
The Call of the Wild, by Jack London, is a classic piece of American literature. The novel follows the life of a dog named Buck as his world changes and in turn forces him to become an entirely new dog. Cruel circumstances require Buck to lose his carefree attitude and somewhat peaceful outlook on life. Love then enters his life and causes him to see life through new eyes. In the end, however, he must choose between the master he loves or the wildness he belongs in.
By this story I found out that WHEN A TROUBLE COMES A BETTER LIFE WAITS.I think that this is very exact on this story because a worst thing came on Buck’s enjoyable life and that when he was survive a better life come.
My opinion about chapter two is that it worse than chapter one. I hated it when Curly died when she was just trying to be nice. I disliked it when Buck and Spitz got into a fight. I liked it when it said buck got stronger and smarter. I also liked it when Buck joined the other dogs to howl at the northern lights.
The best part in the chapters is when they arrived in Bellingham. It was about the time when things were about to change. It was nice because it described how John felt towards making new friends and adjusting to a new life.
