Mattie should go to the Territory because she proved that she can handle the hardships that she will face by showing her tenacity. Mattie displays her tenacity in a scene where Rooster, the marshall that was hired to take on the case that Mattie wants to embark on, is forcefully trying to indicate the fact that the trip will be dangerous and that Mattie shouldn’t go with him and that she should leave him alone, and that she will only be a distraction. Mattie is insisting that she must go and she can handle it and have done such in other situations. Rooster says, “I cannot go up against Ned Pepper’s band and try to look after a baby at one and the same time.” Mattie responds, “I am not baby. You will not have to worry about me.” Rooster replies,
Robie Mitchell is a very resourceful person, she uses the very few items that she has on the raft and puts them to good use. When stuck in the middle of the ocean on a raft, Robie uses a yellow cup she found in the Coastal Commander to bail the water out of the raft. The Coastal Commander is the kit that comes in the raft. The Coastal Commander has different items in it which help you to survive. It is unclear whether the yellow cup is a bailer or a cup to gather rainwater, either way, Robie uses it for both. Later on, Robie found a Survival At Sea Card in the raft, it explained ways to help you survive at sea until you are rescued. When she read the card Robie realized she could make a “fishing pole” from some of the items in the raft. Robie
Character Essay Most shooters attempt suicide before the cops arrive. The main character in my book in my book, Matt knows this first hand; this book is Raiders Night, written by Robert Lipsyte Matt is tall and built like a tank. His dark hair and great physical condition, makes him a chick magnet. He has ice blue eyes. All of these things make him the coolest kid in at school.
John Grady Cole is very similar to the character Matttie in True Grit. Both of them leave home on their own at a young age, which means both of them are very independent. They both also prove their skills to other older people. For example in True Grit Mattie proves herself when she convinces that man to buy the horses back and then once again when she shoots that dude who killed her dad. Grady proves himself with his horse skills in general but specifically when he breaks all the horses in one day. Both Mattie and John Grady seek revenge, but in different ways. Mattie revenges her father’s death by killing the man responsible. Whereas Grady revenges Blevins death by kidnapping the captain and other dude to get all the horses they stole back.
The first reason Matt should not have gone with the Indians was that he missed his family. He still believed that his family was alive, he wanted to see his sister and parents, and he wanted to know about and meet the baby.
Matt is the main character in the house of the scorpions book. Matt is through really tough times some of them are where he has almost been killed , treated very badly just because he is a clone. Which I can relate this to racism which is judging someone by their skin color but in the book is human to clone. They treat matt as if he is a beast because clones are injected with a serum that destroys their brain cells and neurons in the brain to make them dumb. Although Matt wasn’t injected with the serum. which actually makes a clone sometimes better than a human. Take as this, the human is a big old crooked tree that can’t really and its branches resemble their character or personality and the clone resembles a sapling
Later on the story Mattie experiences her grandfather?s death, which taught her to stand up for herself. After all of the hardships that Mattie and Grandfather faced out on their own, they came back to a Philadelphia very unalike the one they had left, and their coffeehouse home was no different. It was completely robbed of almost everything and shards of glass were everywhere. Although this did not stop two thieves from coming in and killing grandfather when he tried to fight back. Mattie did not take this well however. After Grandfather fainted, she gashed the robber?s shoulder with her granddad?s sword which sent him running down the street with Mattie chasing him close behind. This event clearly shows that Mattie learned to stand up for herself against higher authority, which is a big part of adulthood.
Mattie loves being out in the plains instead of in society because she is awkward in public. Mattie hates being out in public and she is naïve in this way because she doesn’t want to make a fool out of herself. Mattie loves being out in the plains because she can’t make a fool of herself and she can have undisrupted time to think about whatever she needs to in peace. Mattie also likes being able to make her own decisions which society doesn’t look too fondly on, but she has to in the wild. Mattie loves the plains also because she is a farm girl so she knows the wild better than society.
The panel that grabbed my interest is the one at the bottom of page 95. It shows a dramatic disconnect in the family, the caption referring to it as “a chink in my family’s armor.” In the foreground, Alison is sitting in front of the TV set, while in the background her father is busy dusting plastic flowers. There are many important details in the frame that help the readers to understand the emotional world of Alison’s childhood. First, she purposely positioned the point of view just behind her younger self; this allows the reader to observe Bruce almost through her own eyes while still watching the TV show. The zoom difference creates an impression of spatial disconnect between the father and the daughter. Second, the big TV set projects The Rifleman, with gun shots and cowboy hats. Young Alison is sitting right in front of the TV, subconsciously defending it from her father.
A character trait to describe Matt Kaizer is definitely risky. While he is an antagonist, he is dynamic. The author describes him as a spitballing, booger flinging, wedgie yanking, dare taking, teen as stated on page 8. Sometimes, the author would get uncomfortable on how far Matt would go to finish his dare. Such as on page 9, the author says “I felt tight with embarassment” to describe his feeling of Matt’s rude comment. And this was true, Matt was rude sometimes. But, throughout the story, Matt’s character changes. This happens when Matt meets a girl’s really sick dad. He tells Matt he is an angle for talking with him about their life mistakes. Matt realizes that he should become a nice kid when his dad and her dad call him a
The first reason Matt should not have gone to the Indian village is that they were not familiar people. He did not understand their ways, their speech, or their dances. He was totally clueless about the Indian culture, except what he had heard from his teachers. He would likely say or do something foolish, and offend someone, and who knows what they might do to him if they got angry. He was not familiar enough
Many of the characters do share a desire to be out on the plains. Being able to be out in the plains for Mattie allows her to be away from society which she isn’t very comfortable being in. This is why she likes being away is because she can feel completely distraction free and be able to think for herself. She feels a lot more comfortable confronting herself than being with society and acting by their unwritten laws. Mattie feels very unsure of herself when she is in society because she dose want to come off not knowing what she needs and wants out of society.
Bachelorette runner-up Matty’s reaction to the news that he had not won Georgia’s heart was one of the most raw reality television moments Australia has ever seen.
Without a doubt, I would be remiss if I didn't point out the central boy in this episode. Cody, as played by Carter, is quickly becoming my favorite Hope Valley kid. Cody has some highly emotional scenes as he learns what family really means in this episode. He has to deal with a bully and some frightening moments for Abigail. Additionally, he has to learn to share Abigail with Pastor Hogan---easier said than done. Cody tackles each scene with his infectious enthusiasm and his extraordinarily natural talent.
Throughout many years, it has been found us as human love conflict. We simply thrive off of it. Now one major conflict that almost every show, book, movie, etc. has been good vs. evil. This is a theme that simply everyone has witnessed. However, some just witnessed it more than others.
I duck out as soon as church is over, thinking I am late, but Billy and Jilly are the only ones there. A minute later, Pete and a few guys from the garage pull in. I extend my hand to my old friend, and he grabs it to pull me in for a bear hug. He is built like a runner. No real meat on his bones, but man that dude is fast. No one ever caught him, not even when they were 4-5 years older than him. He says, “I heard you were back. Hoping I would see you.”
