Danganronpa: Goodbye Despair treats the player to a similar introduction to the player character with the narrator and everyman, Hajime. Much like Naegi, Hajime notes that he is very different from his exceptionally talented peers. He notes, “The truth is, my circumstance is a little different than that of my peers…I’m not so special that I *have* to introduce myself…I never wanted to admit how painfully ordinary I really am” (Danganronpa: Goodbye Despair). Hajime’s situation in regards to his attending Hope’s Peak Academy is very much like his counterpart’s situation in the first game, Hajime is a normal high school student with no talent to call his own. However, instead of winning his way into the school, Hajime attends Hope’s Peak’s …show more content…
Nevertheless, Hajime’s anxiety does not drive the player away from him, but pulls them in, because is complements his everyman characteristics. Due to the fact that Danganronpa: Goodbye Despair is a sequel, it is very likely that the player has already played through the first game. The player knows exactly what is going to happen to the characters trapped on the island, even if the characters are not exactly sure themselves. The player knows that Hajime’s anxiety is warranted and mirrors the player’s own anxiety about when the action of the game is going to start. If Naegi is the everyman character for the player of the first game, new to the series and optimistic about saving all of the characters from the killing game, then Hajime is the veteran player, realistic and ready for the worst.
However, due to the fact that Naegi and Hajime are both characters within the Danganronpa universe, not just avatars, both of them go through changes along Danganronpa’s spectrums, which causes contradictions in their characters. It is important to note both Naegi and Hajime are male characters, even though the series is marketed towards both male and female players. This initially puts female players at odds with both potential avatars. However, the series works to remedy this, through building in contradictions to the basic masculinity that Naegi and Hajime present. Danganronpa starts this breaking down of masculinity with Naegi
Arthur miller’s The Crucible is about how a group of girls that start a witch hunt a salem and end up killing many of innocent people. In The Crucible by Arthur Miller, John Proctor, the protagonist, is a farmer in his middle thirties. The author gives little to no detailed physical description of him, but from Proctor’s speech, we can still picture him as a strong and powerful man who is able to keep every situation under the control, the kind of personality which earns him deep respect and even fear from the people in town. On the other hand, Abigail Williams, the antagonist, plays an inferior role as an orphan who has no social status in a place like Salem. Over the course of the play, John Proctor is absolutely awakened and transformed by Abigail Williams. In the end, he overcomes the crucible by releasing himself from his guilt of
The fight for justice is not always unequivocal or favorable, sometimes justice is given by means that do not seem fair at all. William Styron says in a novel that life “is a search for justice.” It is blatant that throughout Khaled Hosseini's novel, A Thousand Splendid Suns, female characters are continuously battered with injustices. Hosseini hones into the oppression of women and the fight for women empowerment through the life of one of his main characters, Mariam. Her journey is shown throughout the novel where she struggles to search for and understand justice.
The witch trials in this play were based on actual events that happened in Salem in 1692. Arthur Miller’s 1953 The Crucible is a dramatization of the Salem Witch Trials. His reasoning for writing it was because everyone was hysteric about the Soviet Union and communism trying to make its way over to the United States. It was like a modern day witch hunt. In the play, Abigail Williams and a group of girls get caught in the woods. They were dancing and doing other things that puritan’s looked down upon. The girls were caught by Reverend Parris, and soon after his daughter became ‘ill’. The girls then started saying that witches came to them and told them to do bad things. They sent innocent people to hang. After studying Arthur Miller’s

Ralph, however, thinks about others but at times can be selfish which can make his evil grow, but Ralph tries to keep his evil at bay. Simon on the other hand only thinks about others, he does not think about himself which stops his evil from arising. Therefore, control of the situation is control of evil self.

The Unbearable Lightness of Being is written by Milan Kundera, a Czech novelist. It is mostly set in late 1960's Prague. The novel explores the state of life after the Russian military occupation of Prague. The author does not follow a chronological order throughout the novel, which is a reflection of how disorderly life is. It is a time of conflict both spiritually and physically. People start to question the meaning of life if there is any meaning at all. Kundera begins the novel by refusing both Nietzsche's interpretation of eternal return and Parmenides' classification of lightness as positive and weight as negative. Then he argues the point that lightness is unbearable and proves his point through his observations of the four main characters'
