“Lennie, who has been watching, imitated George exactly. He pushed himself back, drew up his knees, embraced them, looked over to George to see whether he had it just right” (4).
Based on this quote we can see some characterization of Lennie. We see that he tries to act and take after George and possibly looks up to him. From their interactions and the ways in which Lennie depends and looks after George to know how to carry himslef tells us, the audience something very important. We can tell that lennie feels a deep and close connection with George that results in him trying not to mess up around George and trying to impress him.
“You just stand there and don’tsay nothing. If he finds out what a crazy bastard you are, we wont get no job, but if he sees ya work before he hears ta talk, we’re set” (6).
The quote here sets up a characteristic of Lenni, being that he is quote on quote crazy. This createsa a bad na d negative image for us the audience of Lenni which leads us to believe he is verry capable of ruining things easily and often.Because of this I am lead to believe this foreshadows Lennie causing George and himself the job which would be a serious external conflict. The quote also shows Georges perspective on Lenni, since he is the one calling him crazy and a bastard. This leads me to wonder why George takes Lenni with him if he seems to always complain
