Asha Greyjoy did not intend to be taken alive. She would die as she had lived, with an axe in her hand and a laugh upon her lips.

When provoked, Asha is ruthless and deadly. She will publicly mock or defame those who disrespect or threaten her. She challenges her Uncle Euron and Uncle Victarion 's claims to the throne, unflinchingly accusing Euron of murdering her father in the midst of his forces and affably rebuffing Victarion 's misogyny with pointed jokes. In general, Asha is irreverent, engaging in crass repartee even in tense scenarios. When not at war, her demeanor is jovial, if somewhat fierce. She 'll treat anyone warmly, be they captives or captors, unless they give her reason to do otherwise.

However, though most believe Asha takes after her father, there is much of her mother in her, too. Despite the Ironborn ridiculing literacy, Asha recalls "days and nights lost amongst her uncle’s wealth of books.” She seeks her wise and well-read Uncle Rodrik’s counsel, not her brutish uncle Victorian’s, equipping herself with historical and tactical knowledge first and foremost. In this way, Asha is unlike most Ironborn in her cleverness. She is cautious, even diplomatic, in her early conversations with Theon (judging him through a disguise) and later interactions as a prisoner of Stannis Baratheon. Asha proves herself a quick study of other cultures and individuals, as shown by her ability to read
She is an unmarried orphan and described as beautiful and intelligent, however she is very vengeful and seeks for power. In addition to that, she is a liar, manipulative and selfish.
Inherit the Wind is a play by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee that depicts the infamous Scopes Trial. The real names of the persons involved in the case were changed, however, the play recounts the same story. One journalist in the story, E.K. Hornbeck, who is closed-minded, a hypocrite, and very cynical proves that the religious community of Hillsboro is not the only one to be intolerant.
The movie Girl, Interrupted is based on the memoir written by Susana Kaysen. In this film, Susana Kaysen, the main character is first introduced in the hospital where she was taken shortly after overdosing on aspirin and alcohol. Despite taking a whole bottle of aspirin and alcohol Susana claims that it was not a suicidal attempt. In the hospital scene, there is also evidence on Susana’s wrist that she is what is known as a “wrist banger”, Susana claims that she does this because there are no bones in her hands. Shortly after, Susana is evaluated by a family friend and former psychiatrist and is strongly encouraged to check herself into a mental institution not too far from her, by the name of Claymoore. At Claymoore, she is evaluated by psychiatrist Melvin Potts. He asks her why she took so much aspirin and she replies that she wanted to make the time jumps, depression, and wrist banging stop. Susana is diagnosed with borderline personality disorder once she arrives at Claymoore.
“We’re here to give you the severest thrill a real hunter ever asked for. Travelling you back sixty million years to bag the biggest game in all of Time”(Bradbury 224). The thought of travelling back in time just to shoot a prehistoric beast of the Past is just that; a thought. People now can’t even imagine what it would be like to look a ferocious dinosaur in the eyes, but it may happen one day in the Future. Ray Bradbury paints this picture for us in his incredible story about this unbelievable mystery with figurative language and personification. “A Sound of Thunder” follows a big game hunter, Mr. Eckels, through a Time Safari of the Future and how he completely changes the world around him by disregarding the dangers of Time Travel,
In the story “A Sound of Thunder” by Ray Bradbury, foreshadowing is used multiple times to hint at events to come in the future. The story follows Eckels, who paid to go on a safari to the past to kill the legendary Tyrannosaurus Rex. On many different occasions characters hinted at important events that would take place. These foreshadowing lines include Travis, the safari guide, repeatedly telling the hunters to stay on the path, the man behind the desk telling Eckels that disobeying rules would result in a large fine or government action when he returns, and the conversation about the results of the presidential election.
In the book, Warriors Don’t Cry by Melba Patillo Beals, all of the character present were true warriors at heart. Between the students that attended Central High School and the family members that had to go through the struggle of being hated in their own town, they did not give up. I believe that I am most like Melba because I never give up, I have had similar events happen to me in my own school, and I have a family that is just as supportive as hers.
When Katsa fishes him out, she and Bitterblue dress the wound in his shoulder, slump him over a horse, and set out for the king was not dead and the only one who could kill him was knocked out.
Whatever you do will have an effect in the world. In the story, The Sound of Thunder, by Ray Bradbury, Eckels, the main character, experienced this message in a very violent way. Although Eckels was brave, curious and courageous beyond measure, he is far from admirable because his selfish and impulsive behaviors made him unaware of his surroundings in ways that drastically harm others and the world around him. Eckels is not a good character in this story because of his bad acts. Ray Bradbury is basically expressing a good idea in a more elaborated version of it. He is saying that all actions have consequences. Eckels showed that by not thinking before acting and not trusting his power or instincts.
She is clearly willing to do whatever is necessary to seize the throne. As soon as Macbeth notifies her that King Duncan will come to their castle that night, she
At the beginning of Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry (a book about racist plantation owners in Mississippi in 1933, where races were segregated) by Mildred D. Taylor, TJ and Stacey were friends. Then, TJ became friends with RW and Melvin. They stole a pistol and TJ was arrested. This is where the book ends. I think TJ is manipulative because he is dishonest to his teachers, persuasive to his friends, and easily controlled by RW and Melvin.
In the short story “A Sound of Thunder”, there is a lot of foreshadowing. Foreshadowing is when you can predict or know what is going to happen next. Sometimes you may think something is going to happen but it’s not exactly how it will happen. It could change. Reading some of the things in this short story makes me think that there will be a lot of foreshadowing. You might not know until you read it but you have a feeling.

While Ivanhoe goes about his business in the book, he is in the presence of two beautiful women, both of which take a strong liking to him. Throughout the book he is bound by his promise to marry Rowena, but due to her father’s enmity, Rowena’s wishes of a romantic marriage have faded. She has been destined to marry Athelstane, who also has royal Saxon blood, thus making her father’s throne thoroughly Saxon. Rebecca is Ivanhoe’s second option, although not the most valued of the two, she has many characteristics which attribute to her value as a potential wife. Ultimately, Ivanhoe ties the knot with Rowena after the long-awaited approval from her father, and Ivanhoe fulfills his promise from long ago. Though the real question awaits, “Did Ivanhoe marry the right woman?”
Millions of years ago, hunting was a way of life, a way of survival. When cavemen killed an animal, they used every single piece of the animal and made certain to let none go to waste. In present day, hunting is viewed as a game. Many people hunt for the enjoyment that the adrenaline rush gives them. In this day and age, people can no longer hunt Saber-Tooth tigers, wooly mammoths, or dinosaurs, but what if there was a way to make that possible? A Sound of Thunder is a futuristic story of hunting prehistoric creatures. They could use a time machine to go back in time and hunt any animal they could dream of. The animals are carefully chosen before the hunt. If someone leaves minute traces of himself, the whole universe changes its course. A
