The Great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald is a novel about Jay Gatsby told by Nick Carraway, which lives in the Midwestern but lives on a Long Island but works in Manhattan. Gatsby is an eccentric millionaire that has a huge mansion and throws big house parties. He invites Nick to the party which was unusual since he was considered a low-class man. Later Nick finds out that Gatsby is in love with Daisy. Tom is married to her Daisy but is cheating on her with Myrtle from another island. Daisy was driving Gatsby’s car and he accidentally ran over a woman, which was Myrtle because she thought it was someone else. Gatsby takes the blame and his mechanic came to his house and shot Gatsby and himself and then Daisy never told the truth.
During this time they used these cars to show how wealthy and their status. Gatsby got a yellow car to show how wealthy, he was and was trying to get daisy to see him. “It was a rich cream color, bright and there in it’s monstrous length with triumphant hat-boxes and supper-boxes and tool-boxes, and terraced with a labyrinth of wind-shields that mirrored a dozen suns.” (pg.33). It also displayed his achievements of a wealthy status. It was mainly shown to attract his love of his life to him. Another thing is that cars brought a lot of irony too at this time. Later on, Myrtle was struck by the car because she believed that Tom was the driver and he was the only way out of the Valley of Ashe’s. However, her American Dream which was to leave the Valley of Ashe’s killed her.

In the early 1920’s the Automobile industry was the start of the small beginnings of the world’s largest manufacturing job. Between 1896 - 1920 America came the dominates of the world Automobile industries. By far the best making automobiles was Ford and Chryslers. The manufacturing of Ford motors was the beginning of the world’s next step of a million dollar industry. As the population of Ford cars was coming into the world, there were more problems they had to solve. The associates had discussed what they had to do with the transportation between one place to another (roadways).
