Throughout history it has been well known that the stepmother of any family has always been portrayed as evil. This is a perfect example of stereotypes and how they lead to generalizations. In the Disney animation Snow White, there are many questionable character roles that have contributed to stereotypes well known to the demographic. Whether it’s the role of women as being passive, obedient, weak, stay at home chefs who clean; or the role of men as being macho, manly, strong, and wise; and even the role of stepmothers as being evil and sneaky. Regardless of what kind of role it is, it still has a stereotypical description of the characters. These stereotypes present in Disney films and animations greatly influence and affect the minds of the audience. In the Disney animation Snow White there are several characters that accurately portray these stereotypes in many ways. For example, the main character Snow White is the epitome of a typical good, obedient female. She is subservient, pure, delicate, sweet, can cook, clean, and is weak.
