Charles Manson The truth is, we have a dark side. Each and every single person residing on planet earth have something in themselves that has been compelling them to take inhumane actions, regardless of how small or big the effect might be. We might bang a cat while driving somewhere and never seemed to be bothered to make a police report about it; we might lie to others to get things done for ourselves; we might even feel jealous at someone only because they are involved in a relationship with someone hot. We may think it’s perfectly normal and cute to have flaws, but you and I know deep down inside, Satan is trying to pierce into of that darkened soul. Those people who embrace the power within are mostly called criminals and psychopaths because …show more content…
One of the many 60s fame, acknowledged by the social media as a notorious murderer is, Charles Manson. Manson is an American founder of a hippie cult group whom he maneuvered to carry out some brutal massacre involving famous celebrities such as Sharon Tate and other Hollywood residents in the late 1960s. He is what any normal parents would warn their kids about. A bad influence. What made Manson stand out was his mad eyes staring deep and he was never found guilty of any of the assaults. The Tate-La Bianca killings that shook American history have immortalized him as an icon of evil. His quasi commune group or better known as The Family filled with young, devoted disciples of evil have performed around 35 murders under the instruction of Charles Manson. Years after that, it is still visible that the thoughts and influence of Manson is nonetheless lingering in American pop culture; also not to forget on how the famous artist Marilyn Manson …show more content…
He and his fellow worshippers rejected industrialism as it contributed to the destruction of mother earth and refused to live in the norms set by the community. They involved in abusive usage of LSD and uncontrolled fornication, denying everything that meddles with their way of life. According to Manson in one of his interviews The Family wanted to stop war and make the world a peaceful place to live. He also mentioned that they give their life by taking lives and they understand it. It is hard to believe in something that everybody else thinks it is madness. To me it takes great self-assurance, audacity and credence to pull of such a tremendous trigger and Manson not only had gone beyond such measures but also managed to lure others into his winding spiral too. Manson might seem like an unresolved puzzle almost all the time, but on the other hand, people have understood how one should live in balance with planet earth through him. He founded the word ATWA, which stands for Air, Trees, Water, Animals and All The Way Alive. Manson started preaching about how humans are going against the law of nature in almost all of his parole interviews with such confidence. He even wrote a letter to the former president of the United States, Ronald Reagan to end the war between mankind and fight against pollution as Manson himself saw the
Charles Manson is one of the sickest cult murderer in the United States. He was often known to rebel since he was younger, as said by Paul Watkins. By the age of thirty-two he had been in and out of reformatories and jails plenty of times. It started off as burglaries for him to pay for a place to stay, then it started advancing according to Susan Atkins. When he went to the juvenile detention center he escaped after just one day.
As I’ve said previously, the life of Charles Manson revolved around interpersonal violence. From an early age Manson was the victim of child neglect – his mother (Kathleen Maddox) would leave him with neighbors, “for an hour, then disappear for days or weeks,”
Charles Manson believed that he was the new Messiah and that after a "nuclear attack" he and his followers would be saved by hiding in a secret world under the desert. His prophetic visions included a belief that the race war would result in a black victory, and Manson along with his Family members would have to mentor the black community, as they would lack experience to run the planet. As Manson and the Family were to be the beneficiaries of the race war, he told his followers that they had to help initiate it. On August 9, 1969, at Roman Polanski's Beverly Hills home at 10050 Cielo Drive. Manson Family members chose-Charles "Tex" Watson, Susan Atkins, Patricia Krenwinkel and Linda Kasabian—to carry out the murders. Kasabian acted as the
He believed that waging a war between races was the right thing to do. Any sane person would be able to tell that waging war is wrong in this aspect. However, due to the Anti-social Personality Disorder, Charles Manson was unable to see the error in his ways. Also, those with Anti-social Personality Disorder then to exploit those around them. In the case of Manson, he manipulated his followers into committing murder for him by using religion. This trait could also be connected to the superiority complex that is often found in those with Anti-social Personality Disorder. Those with this disorder may consider themselves superior to those around them. This was evident in Manson as he claimed to be both the reincarnation of Jesus Christ and Satan. This sense of superiority over his followers allowed Manson to manipulate them as he saw fit and continuously fueled his delusions of grandeur. Manson fit other symptoms that fit this disease as well. Manson undoubtedly has Anti-social Personality Disorder.
Manson started his cult not only on his religious beliefs, but on his belief that society had given him a rough past and Manson wanted payback for the resentment he had gotten in his childhood. Therefore, he created a cult to kill.
Charles Manson was the leader and founder of the cult the Manson Family or The Family, a group of people well known for being serial killers in the late 1960’s. It was believed that they were associated with cult-quasi-religious groups, that came about in the 1960’s and they are still here today. They believe they know what the future of the planet is, when it will end, and how. In a biography of Charles Manson and the Manson Family it said this, “In August 1969 a series of Hollywood murders were to shock the world and tarnish the 60’s free love and peace legacy.”(Biography Channel 2013.) Charles Manson himself never committed any murders with his own hands, but the murders were committed under his order by several of his most obedient
In the 1960’s, Manson gathered hundreds of followers which he called “The Family.” They lived on a deserted ranch. Most of Manson’s followers were impressionable young females and he used LSD and amphetamines to help manipulate and convince them to act out his wishes. He slowly broke down his follower’s beliefs and made them believe that he was Jesus and that a race war was impending. Eventually Manson’s most loyal followers carried out his acts of violence and left seven people dead. In 1969, police raided the ranch on suspicions of vandalism, unaware of the murders committed until after the arrests. Charles Manson has been labeled “The Icon of Evil.” (Rosenberg, 2009)
Manson was happy with the death of those six people, but was upset with the sloppiness of that night’s murders (“Manson Family Murders”). “Last night was too messy, Manson told the group when they assembled back into their bunkhouse. This time I’m going to show you how to do it” (Bugliosi 355). After driving for hours Manson stopped at a house in the suburbs. He had his ‘Family’ drive around the block while he looked through the window. After a few minutes Manson returned to the car and told them that the house had pictures of children. He continued on to
Charles Manson has been named "the most dangerous man alive." Society referred to him as the devil. They believed he was the reason society was so bad in the 1960's. The 1950's to the 1960's was uncontrollably filled with violence. Our culture was shattered by the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King Jr., and Senator Robert F. Kennedy. At the same time, body bags from Vietnam were building up from a war that was tearing our nation apart. Riots and antiwar protesters marched across America. Many people worried that the US was getting out of control. "The Sixties ended abruptly on August 9, 1969..." wrote Didon in The White Album. On August 8,1969, director Roman Polaski's housekeeper found
Most of the reason why Muslims face discrimination in New York is due to the past history of the city and country. Muslims have almost always faced discrimination in NYC, but after the terrorist attack of 9/11, Muslims have never faced more discrimination. When Islamophobic attacks cooled down, they were reignited by ISIS and other extremist attacks that have occurred in the last two years.
‘‘ ‘The Lorax’ book was intended to be propaganda.’’ This was said by the famous writer, Dr. Seuss. ‘The Lorax’ was a book about a boy looking for answers about how the town came to be ruined, and what he can do to turn things around. This story was written way before the environment became a global issue, just like what Dr. Seuss tend to do, ‘The Lorax’ became a propaganda, spreading the idea of human destroying the environment and anyone has the ability to change the world. Propaganda is informations spreading around, trying to advertise one how he should feel or think about something, an idea or a person. Propaganda uses tactics, has succeeded in cases, and are still around today.
Marilyn Manson has been pushing the envelope of the right to freedom of expression since his controversial "shock rock" antics began in the early 1990's. His methods are strange and rejected by most of society, as it cannot understand what he is trying to achieve. Many people believe that Marilyn Manson is bizarre, seeing him wearing women's clothing, applying heavy facial makeup, and covering himself with jewelry. His success can be attributed not only to his entertainment abilities, but even more so to the incredible marketing campaign organized to promote himself and his crazy actions. His actions give the media a scapegoat to fall back on and a figure which they can blame all of society's problems. He has amassed a large following
These are some of the most infamous names in the history of murder, but they hid in plain sight, and Manson did not even commit murder. He was so manipulative he could convince others to do his bidding for him. How is that even possible? Surely one would be able to recognize someone who is such a dangerous threat or would they? One of the reasons these killers can be so successful is their ability to blend into their surroundings and at times even be considered a stand up member of the communities they live in, but what is going on inside their brains?
Charles Manson had a way of picking up on people’s weaknesses and fears, and used it against them. He preyed on vulnerability and, as Linda James said, he offered them wealth and perfect relationships (Fennel, 1993). And, although his claims were extraordinary, he was able to attract a good amount of followers.
3. The mass murderer kills due to a warped sense of love and loyalty, a desire to save their loved ones from misery and hardship. Typically it is a husband/father who is despondent over the fate of the family unit. Sometimes, as in the case of the Manson family, the murders are done by a cult group being obedient to their charismatic leader.
