Charlie the Unicorn Saves the Day Once upon a time there was a family who lived in a small cabin in the woods, and in this family there was a woodcutter, his wife, and his two children, Hansel and Gretel. Now this family was very poor and the mother knew that if they didn’t get rid of Hansel and Gretel her husband and herself would die of starvation. She knew it would be hard to convince her husband’s mind to get rid of them but she would still try because she looked at all the food they had and knew that they wouldn’t have enough food for a week more. With Hansel and Gretel who were growing the food had gotten eaten up faster than it ever had. So the next day the woodcutter’s wife hid some of the food to make it look as if they only had enough food for the next 3 days. When dusk fell the family got ready for bed. The wife had decided night was the best time to discuss her idea with her …show more content…
He walked towards the noise. He was almost to where the screaming was coming from when Pink and Blue suddenly popped out of anywhere. Pink told Charlie they they were going on an adventure and they had to be sneaky. Blue agreed. Charlie yelled at them to go away, but Blue and Pink kept following him. Charlie told them he was out to save someone and if they wanted to come they had to be quiet. They agreed that they would. When they got to the gingerbread house Charlie ran to the house and took a huge bite of the house. It made a loud crunch noise. Pink and Blue yelled in Charlie´s face that he was a hypocrite. Then Charlie went inside to save the children. He ran at the old woman but then she started singing. After she was done singing she blew up just like everyone else who sang to him. Charlie sent the kids back to their home. Then he started walking home and he was knocked out. When he woke up he noticed that Pink and Blue had robbed him again. They had stolen his horn
When they had cooked the gingerbread men they had cooked them and then left them behind and forgot about them then they had come to life and ate the other gingerbread men then they grandma had abused the grandpa for eating all the biscuits and then it went in to
The Walls had to deal with severe poverty and constantly had to worry about where their next meal was coming from. On one occasion, they ran out of money and had no food to eat for lunch, and Jeannette said “When Dad dropped Brian and me off at school, he noticed that we weren't carrying lunch bags. ‘Where are your lunches?’ Dad asked us. We looked at each other and shrugged.
This book can be very painful to read because many times the kids are much more responsible than the adults. Even so, the kids have to fend for themselves from a very young age. Upon Rex losing his job once again, Lori and Jeannette try to discuss ways to help make money for the family. Finding themselves unable to think of any helpful ways, Jeanette says, “I guess we can eat less,” to which Lori replies “We have before” (67). The face they have gone hungry many times before is extremely disappointing, especially since Rex and Rose are both completely capable of getting jobs. When Rex are Rose are arguing about not having money, Jeannette says “Tell them we like eating margarine, then maybe they’ll stop fighting” (70). It’s fine to live like that on your own, but you shouldn’t raise a kid in that kind of scenario.
Are Dally, Johnny, And Ponyboy really heroes? What is a hero? A hero is someone you look up to. Not necessary from a lot of people. It just takes one person to think that. A hero is a person you trust. Someone who is courageous. And Dally, Ponyboy and Johnny are just that. Dally is the type of person that is in jail all the time. Johnny has a rough background. He gets beaten by his dad and his mom doesn’t care. Ponyboy just lost his parents 6 months ago and now he is just lives with his two big brother. A hero isn’t someone you see flying across the sky and that has some special super power. They do things other people would never do. But how can those greasers be heroic?
Then Hansel said “what have we done!” And after he spoke these words, it came to his mind, to put the witch, who had cause him and his sister to murder their parents, alive in the oven. Hansel said to Gretel, “since the witch had told us to kill our parents, it is better as well that we would also kill her”. Hansel and Gretel knew that they were going to have dinner that night at the witch’s house, and they knew that it was the perfect time, to execute their plan. Before they had a piece of bread during that dinner, the witch asked Gretel to come inside the oven to see if the bread is well done. However, Gretel said she did not know how to see it, and instead the witch come to the oven herself. Once the witch came inside the oven, the two children
Jeanette talks about the many creative ways that their parents tried to make things better, but many times the children would go hungry. The kids would sleep in cardboard boxes as beds, and they did this because their parents made it sound
A hero is a person that is willing to risk his or her life in order to save another person's life. In the novel, The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton, Ponyboy, Dally, and Johnny all saved lives, helped others, and did risky acts in order to save lives. All of these three Greasers all showed a great act of a hero in the novel. First off, Ponyboy is courageous and not afraid to rescue and help people in times of needed. One example from the book is when the church caught on fire and Ponyboy rushes into the fire to save the school children .
So began a thrice-daily ritual on the raft, with pumpkin pie and spaghetti being the favorite subjects. The men came to know louise’s recipes so well that if louie skipped a step or forgot an ingredient, Phil, and sometimes Mac, would quickly correct him and make him start over.” Instead of just saying “they were starving” Hillenbrand instead talks about how they fantasized about Louie’s Mother's cooking. She uses detail of the cooking to develop how hungry they are and to show the lack of food they have. I know when I'm hungry I often think about my mother's mash potatoes and ham, and how she puts everything together and cooks.
Charles Christopher Parker Jr. was born on August 29, 1920 in Kansas City, Kansas to Charles and Addie Parker. Charlie led a lonely childhood which resulted from his parents separation in 1927 when Charlie was just 7 years old. His father was never around much following the separation. Their house however was just a short walk from Kansas City's entertainment district which attracted Charlie while growing up. This was to be where Charlie would find his place in the world.
I’ve read a wild, but a mysterious story called ‘’Charlie’s Point Of View”. This book was created and invented by a brilliant man named Richard Scrimger. This book is a fictional but a great book. As I take you into the journey/wonders of this book, I’ll tell you all about a blind boy solving a mystery with his powerful senses. The boy who was blind was named as Charlie Fairmile. He has two other friends who gave him big help and their names were Lewis and Bernadette.
Sarah slugged through the early morning work and realized-too soon- that she needed to make a trip to the house. She made her way, clasping her arms around her for warmth in the cold November morning. Painted Girl’s borrowed sweater did not help dissipate the cold air, and neither did the lingering whiskey in her system. A light shone in the window illuminating Grandfather and Dingle, who sat at the table together eating pie. She watched as Dingle grabbed a juicy strawberry from Grandfather’s pie and nibbled at it greedily. Grandfather must have finished his hunt early, Sarah realized. She had hoped to avoid Grandfather today but nature called. There was no choice, either the woods or the house. Sarah did an about turn and went for the
However, when their mother came through the door and told them of a hungry family, the 4 women did not hesitate in giving away their luscious breakfast to those in need. The children delivered the food to the family and “a poor, bare, miserable room it was, with broken windows, no fire, ragged bedclothes, a sick mother, wailing baby, and a group of pale, hungry children cuddled under one old quilt, trying to keep warm”(24). The sisters realize what a harsh environment they live in, and because the setting is so pessimistic, they try to share the little wealth they have so that everyone may live long full lives. The setting in which they live, houses many people who have even less wealth than their own family. However, because of this dreadful place, they try and make sure that their community, or their family, is taken care of, even at the expense of their luxuries.
The Red Pony by author John Steinbeck is a very notable book for young adults. The central and recurring theme of the four stories told within this short novel is life and death. The stories also deal with conflict between old and new. Unlike most novels for young adults this book is different because John Steinbeck does not try to soften or hide old age and death, but instead presents these themes as they are in reality. The stories tell how the main character, Jody Tiflin, becomes more responsible as he deals with the disappointments and sadness, as well as the successes of real life.
Charlie Chaplin did not use sound to communicate to the audience in his movies. Despite the fact that there was no spoken language, his movies were sensational and the audiences loved them. Chaplin was thought of as cinema’s first genius and has been called the single most-influential artist in the history of motion pictures. I am researching Charlie Chaplin to learn how he became a sensational comedian and one of the best actors of all time.
