Check-in Reflection
I am feeling confidence that I will successfully complete this course. Heading toward the midpoint of your course I feel I am doing well. My instructor provides timely assistance. For example, I mistakenly placed the wrong assignment in the drop box. My instructor immediately responds to my request and I was to rectify the matter.
My instructor is motivating and engaging. My assignments are clearly outlined. I appreciate the way my instructor help me to understand how the assignments fit into the larger goals of the course and what is learn from the process of each assignment. The lesson we are learning is productivity techniques that I can use throughout my professional life.
The teacher and the course assignment that has impacted me the most have both come from my Psychology 2301 class. My teacher’s name was Professor Dalmolin, and I completed my final honors project with her. She was so full of energy and loved to teach. Any question you had, she almost always had an answer, and if she didn’t, she would make sure we didn’t leave the classroom until she looked up the answer and got back to us. This is why I made sure to end my honors journey with her, and I am glad I did. My project was on emotional Intelligence and it involved a lot of medical research (in which I have no interest), and she was very helpful and even found articles on her own time that she thought would be beneficial to my project. Professors that
An enthusiastic teacher can easily motivate students to learn because of the passion and drive he/she brings to the class. Such a teacher is also warm and humorous, which students will find encouraging. That might make them want to go the extra mile because the teacher is supportive of them through the feedbacks and scaffoldings he/she gives. However, students often relate much better to their teachers when they believe that he/she is credible, is concerned about their success and has high expectations from them.
Great feedback from peers and instructor. This interaction to me means a lot since that is how I measure myself how much knowledge I am gaining and what part is that one that I need to put more attention to.
The course text is progressing on the right track and we are fast approaching the end.
Of the many classes that I chose to take, my two favorites were an English course and Health course. I may want to be a K-9 Officer, and these have few things in common with that career goal, but they were my favorite courses because of the professors who taught the course. Janice (Meredith) Privott for the English course, and Matthew Harpold for the Health course. These two teachers helped push me to better myself in almost every way. Mrs.Privott helped me on a personal level with stress and trauma; from her support she made me a much stronger person. Mr.Harpold helped me with my self-esteem, he took the time to help me when I needed it, even when I wasn’t in his class, just as Mrs.Privott did.
Another goal that I have had since the beginning of the course was to adopt an engaging and effective teaching style. My aim has been to take the positive traits of teachers that I have enjoyed, while keeping in mind the characteristics and mannerisms that I have disliked, and crafting my own unique teaching style. As I have lead class discussions, group readings, and mini-lessons throughout the semester I have began to develop a teaching style through trial and error. I have paid special attention to the list of 25 pointers for successful tutees from assignment two and and focused on making my teaching interactive, supportive, equal for all, and respectful. I have learned to appreciate that, concerning a student's individual success, a teacher taking the time to listen to their student is just as important as the student listening to the teacher.
During this course I feel that I have achieved all of the course outcomes. It was difficult in the beginning, but by continuing to read the
It was my favorite and first and class of the day – even though it was third period – because it was a class that did not bore me and it made me think. The class was fair and challenging, but it was not stressful. The humorous jokes said during the class as well as the comments made towards certain students were delightful to listen to as we were doing the labs in class. Also, I’d like to mention that your T-shirts are awesome. From comparing teachers and classes, I noticed that you were teaching more topics than some other teachers. For example, I learned more about css and html than my peers did because we were not simply using pre-made templates. I learned how to integrate all of this together with python into the labs and projects that were not only functional but they were also aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. All the above things motivated me to work harder in
The evidence provided in the student course feedback survey shows that most students are content with their progress within the course. Some students raised some concerns, and those concerns have been addressed.
Why this is important to my academic success: The instructor is a great resource because they are here to help us succeed. Their feedback and guidance are here to help us to do will and help us stay on track, so we can learn what we set out to learn and sometimes more.
I believe that every successful student has either one or two teachers to inspire and motivate them. Koua Yang, my Asian American Studies teacher has such a bright personality that motivates many students to strive for success. His uniqueness of teaching; connecting each and every lesson to his personal life, his dedication to help improve student's education and his commitment as a tennis coach has motivated me to strive for only
Outstanding teachers know their stuff! They know what they are teaching and how to teach it so that students will understand and be able to use their knowledge in multiple contexts.
When I was in 9th grade ran 2400 meters on the 12 min run but at the end of the 9th grade year ran 2600 meters on the 12 min run. So as you can see I made some very big improvements on my 12 min run. I also got a 14 laps my 9th grade baseline and I got 17 for the post test and in 10th grad I got 17 for my baseline and 18 on the post test. I got a 35 on the pushup test for my baseline in 9th grade and for the posttest I got a 40. I got a 120 on the bench press in 9th grade and a 130 for my post rest in 9th and 10th grade. I got a 30 in 9th grade for my 1 min sit up and a 32 for my post test and I only got only a 25 for my post test in 10th grade.
Learning can be difficult, especially in a class like history, but lucky for me my 7th , 10th , and 12th grade teacher made history one of my favorite classes. Coach Fowler is the best teacher and coach that I have ever had. He really knew how to make class fun and keep me focused. He was also my football Coach, which also resulted in me wanting to do good and act right in his classroom. He knew when to joke, and he also knew when to take things serious. Having a teacher and also a football coach that you look up to and respect really encourages you to do good and not let him down.
I've talked to Jennifer a couple of weeks ago and I asked her for a favor. I understand that you are signing the aids based on the school's needs, but I'm wondering if Medea Creek has an opening. Since my son is going to Medea Creek this year, it'll be easier for me to work there. As you may know, I have a masters in electrical and biomedical engineering, and I'll be happy to help the students with math and science. I also Talked to Debra at VEX Robotic competition in January That I was one of the judges there and I told her that I'm interested in helping her with the Robotics program. Right now I'm preparing to get my teaching credential (CBEST) this summer. As soon as I get my credential I can help the students more.
