Child abuse is defined as any sexual, physical or psychological mistreatment of a child, child abuse as any act or series of acts of omission or commission instituted by a parent or caregiver that directly results in harm or a threat of harm to the child in question, (Wikipedia, 2015) Child abuse can occur in a child 's home, or in the organizations, schools or communities the child interacts with, (Herrenkohl, 2005). There different way in which child can be abused these include; Child neglect, physical maltreatment, shaken baby syndrome, sexual abuse and emotional abuse.
Types of Child Abuse
Child neglect is the failure, by a parent, guardian or caretaker, either intentionally or through negligence or inability, to take actions necessary to give a young child with minimally sufficient food, clothes, shelter, medical care, oversight, mental stability and increase, or other vital attention, (Herrenkohl, 2005).
Physical maltreatment includes physical aggression directed at a kid via an adult. Physical abuse takes many forms, as well as the results are far-ranging. Physical abuse may create wounds, bruising or swelling, break of a bone, internal injuries of the body, organs, or head (subdural hematoma), burns, or the departure of the little one, (Kemp, 2008).
Shaken Baby Syndrome, the act of shaking an infant, is considered serious physical maltreatment, as neck, head and spinal injuries frequently result from shaking young kids. The results
