On the first day of observations, Ben entered the classroom and began crying once his mother left to go to the restroom. He ran after her and followed her into the restroom. Once she left, he was able to calm down and began following his teacher around. Eventually, Ben moved over to the coloring table and colored with the other students. He continued to try to talk to his teacher, Cindi, even though she was talking to other students. Ben played with other students and took a toy cash register from another girl. After he returned it, he then began to play with a toy and walked around the classroom showing it to his classmates and other teachers. He continued to play by himself, singing and talking to himself as he played. Before moving to the sensory table to play with a student teacher and another student, he gave his teacher a hug. He copied what the student teacher was doing with the beads and asked to take another girl’s beads before simply taking them. Ben was very excited about playing with the beads until he slammed his bowl down, screamed and ran over to talk to another student teacher. Later on, he returned to the sensory table only to watch the girl playing next to him. …show more content…
He ran to Cindi and smiled at her before going to the sensory table with a student teacher and another student. He then left to go play by himself for a while. After watching a video, he left the station and gave Cindi a hug. Later, while he is playing with the cash register, he takes a toy from another boy and then gives it back. Ben then saw the afternoon teacher and gave her a hug. Ben began singing and talking to himself about a nail for the reminder of the time before giving Cindi another hug. He then walked around the classroom and poked his
To begin Laurie came home from the first day and was definitely frustrated. Charles came home and his” voice suddenly became raucous” (Jackson, 345). On the first day of school Laurie told his parents about a boy who received a spanking due to him not obeying the teacher. Charlie was extremely creative coming up with a whole new persona to tell his parents about.
They were to ignore him when acted out or became disruptive and praise him when he behaved in an acceptable manner. In a sense, this made every one of the kids in his class one of Sean’s teachers. They were forced to accept that Sean could get away with doing things that would have landed them in the principal’s office. Kathy would have to spend significant amounts of extra time working with Sean when teaching him how to do something the other children had learned in five minutes two weeks ago. The academic gap between Sean and the rest of his classmates continued to widen as the school year continued.
Next when Ms. Jones told the kids talking about a band t-shirt to sit they did and were quiet when the bell rang. Although Tim made fun of Joe’s shirt, Tim was making faces and Joe was not paying attention. Second, there were arguments on a
He would keep moving, being fidgety, laying down, and making noises. Sitting next to Steve while he was being disruptive resulted in Ms. Kierah separating the two of them. Also, since Ethan was being disruptive Ethan was one of the last students to get their sticker and to go wash hands. When he was finally called he jumped up and said “Hey sticker!”. Once Ethan washed his hands, he took his seat at the snack table. During snack time Ms. Kierah read the story “The Lion Inside”. While she was reading, Ethan wasn’t engaged, as he stayed turned around facing his snack. He would keep trying to talk and make noises during story but then would be asked to quiet down. Once she has finished the story it was time to get jackets and line up to go
The students work on assigned classwork on the IPad. Bobby begins singing. Ms. Fizzle approaches Bobby to help him with the assignment. Ms. Frizzle walks away. Bobby stands up, and the teacher aide approaches and asks Bobby to have a seat he sits down and starts mumbling under his breath. Bobby begins staring around the classroom. Bobby looks at the IPad (class assignment) puts it away and walks to the back of the classroom and stands behind one of his classmate seats mumbling and singing to himself. Teacher Aide addresses Bobby behavior and asks him to return to the front of the class. His classmates begin snickering.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 1/6/2016. I arrived at the operation which is located at 3422 Richmond Rd, Texarkana about 12:57 pm. I was greeted by Comekia Island, the person in charge while director was at lunch. I handed her business card and then explained the purpose of my inspection and reviewed the subchapters I would be observing. Roshonda Epps the director arrived approximately a hour later. When Epps arrived I handed her business card and then explained the purpose of my inspection and reviewed the subchapters I would be observing.
“You’re hanging out with that boy way too much. That boy ought to get a good whooping from his father.” “Charles isn’t that bad.” Laurie pleaded. “The teachers just don’t get him.
While they were eating lunch, a kid that no one recognized came to sit down at their table. Ayden and Friedrich didn't really care that much, so they just ignored the kid. Ayden noticed that the kid who sat down was staring at him. After finishing his lunch, the kid went to the dark corner of the lunchroom. Ayden didn't think much about it and continued to eat his lunch. Then the lunch bell rang. Ayden and Friedrich got up to go to science, but they both noticed that the kid was following them. They moved hastily as they were disturbed by
Then one day in the science elective we were doing an experiment. Everyone doing the experiment were on one side of the tale and then on the other side there was August. I personally didn’t mind August and if he touched me I wouldn’t make a big deal out of it. However, Ms.Rubin noticed we were all squished to one side and she sent two of us over to the other side, Tristan and Nino. During the experiment August accidently touched Tristan. Tristan freaked out because of the game and went over to immediately wash her hands. While she did this August looked sad, mortified like he had done something wrong. At that moment August looked like he had a million ideas swirling around his head his eyes got watery but he never cried. August had found out about the game.
Eventually he loses interest in his games and joins “A” on the couch to look on as she plays on a tablet. He sits next to her but is upside down with his feet in the air, as if he were pedaling and imaginary bicycle. He tells an amusing though completely inaccurate story about how babies are made. His older siblings who are still in the room raise eyebrows at each other in amusement but don’t correct him. Shortly following this exchange the first hour of observation comes to an end.
For this child observation, I decided to observe my younger brother Jacob. Jacob is 5 years old, but he insisted that I write that he is almost 6. He is also in kindergarten this year and loving every second of being a loud, rowdy boy. I suppose I am at an advantage in this observation since I have seen the numerous developments in Jacob’s life thus far.
The following data was gathered while fulfilling duties as a principal intern at Theresa Bunker Elementary School. The data was observed during five to seven minutes of classroom observation as part of a walk-through in the spring of the current school year. My cooperating supervisor for my internship was able to go on these walk-throughs with me in order to have a productive reflection meeting afterwards. This elementary school has two of each grade level from Kindergarten to sixth grade. Since it was more feasible in this small school setting, I actually was able to do a walkthrough in eight classes. Here I will report my observations from five of those walk-throughs. As I went in to each room I was looking for four
She also blamed her parents for getting a divorce since they never had a conversation with the children. This, unfortunately, affected academic and social life in school. Ben, on the other hand, was a typical 7-year-old, who played the clown in the family. He expressed himself through laughter and playing pranks on
In the following report we will examine all of the elements of a Kindergarten classroom that I observed in Miss. Phillips classroom. I will cover over the school, the student’s participation, and the teacher’s overall. I will also include a Building report card. I will discuss how much the experience had an impact on me.
Max walks into the classroom five minutes late, his shirt untucked and hardly buttoned. He sits down a few desks away from Ben who had arrived five minutes early and was waiting patiently for class to start. Although the boys seemed completely opposite, Ben the more conservative and shy one, while Max, a little more rebellious and mischievous, they were best friends and did most everything together.
