Overview of the program Together for Girls is partnered with the CDC Foundation and the program focuses on three major pillars. These three strategies will allow Together for Girls to mobilize support in effort to change the number of children who are getting abused each day. The first pillar focuses on conducting national surveys and data. This enables the program to document the magnitude, nature, and the impact of the certain types of violence against children (TGF, 2017). This information will allow the government leaders, civil society, and donors to be aware of the situation. The strong commitment from the government and in-country partners have helped to fund and implement many solutions to child violence. Together for Girls aims to implement community action to help raise awareness of the issue. Countries are teaching children to be more aware of their rights and supporting them to become adults. The survey highlights those who are suffering from violence each year. As one of the major pillars, national surveys and data are used to document the impact of physical, emotional, and sexual violence against children. VACS is a data collection that helps to identify the key issues with violence among young children. Surveys are collected from Malawi, Cambodia, Kenya, Swaziland, Haiti and Tanzania. These datasets are prepared by the Division of Violence Prevention at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Although it is available to the public, permission is still needed from the respective country governments (TGF, 2017). Every year, the program develops the stakeholder report which puts together the collected data from the VACS. It compares the rates of sexual violence, experiences of violence before the age of 18, and the first sexual intercourse that was unwanted from different countries (TGF, 2017). This stage of evaluation leads to the second major pillar which is program response and development. Campaigns and developing goal advocacy helps to build public awareness.
