In this family, there are 5 strengths identified based on the referral. First of all, responsibility is identified with Susan when she kept all prenatal and WIC appointments. She is being responsible for her and the baby’s health. Also David is trying to be responsible financially to take care of the family. Supportiveness is also present in the family. David and Jane are providing financial and emotional support for Susan and Michael. Especially, the support system within the family will be beneficial when Susan or David pursues further education goals. The other strength would be described as futuristic, when Susan is planning to go back to school. She is able to set a goal and make plans for herself and the family. Resourcefulness is also
The Grape family shows clear signs of resiliency in the face of trauma and adversity. The have managed to stay together, as one unit, even after the death of their father. They have maintained their household and held on to their property. They continue to strive to take care of each other. Each family member has gravitated toward adopting responsibilities which strengthens the sense of purpose for each individual member, as well as provide a bit more needed stability for the wholesomeness of the family unit. The Grape family has the capacity to focus on a goal and work together to achieve it. A good example of this is the joint effort to come together
“The strengths perspective embraces the principle that all clients possess them. Strengths can be the client’s willingness to accept help, the client’s positive attitude, their ability to overcome hardships in the past…” (Arnold, 2008, p. 1) In the strengths perspective, the strengths of a person to resist the stressor and problem areas in their lives are what the focus is on. (Hutchinson, 2016, p. 111) What this means is that it is assumed that regardless of who the person is or what they have done, they have strengths that can help them
The strength and weakness for women and men was used the their advantage or disadvantage some weakness through my experience were lack of motivation, limit skills, lack of will power, substance abuse, pregnancies, financial stains, timing, and life changes altering plans. Strengths were will power, motivation, positive influences, growth developments, exposure to diversified culture, higher education, support systems. Those whom chose to self-sacrifice themselves overcome obstacles reached their goals. Those who work hard knowing one day they would see the big picture realized the success or
Task 1A required students to read through the Australian Family Strengths Nursing Assessment Guide v2 and identify their family strengths in order to present to the class, an artefact that expressed those identified strengths.
E1: Describe the main food groups that are essential to meet the basic needs of the body.
The Herman’s biggest strength is collectively expressing their own personal feelings. By them being able to express themselves I’m able to get a clear understanding of the areas needed to be focused on. Buddy’s strength is that he has a motivation of wanting to change in order to not have to leave his home again. For example, Buddy is eager to start helping his mom around the house with chores. Buddy is also requesting a reward system for chores he
The three strengths I would use will be local family support, church activities and two parent family. The first strength would be local family support because both parents and Margret brother lives by them. Thomas and Margret parents only babysit when necessary because they are elderly. The second strength would be church activities and support because family plays an active role in church and Margret attends Sunday school class for women. The last strength would be two parent family because Margret was raised by her grandmother but when her grandmother passed away she went to foster care. Therefore while in foster care she gained a mother, father and little brother. Thomas was raised by both of his parents and they both had good jobs.
There are a few family assessment tools that can be used to assess families, each assessment has different aims and scope. That being said, the one I have chosen today is the Australian Family Strengths Nursing Assessment Guide also known as AFSNAG. The Australian Family Strengths Nursing Assessment guide helps families identify and develop their strengths that can change the family functioning and increases family resilience. (Patterson 2002) is a range of questions across the 8 important qualities of the Australian family strengths (Appendix 1) that allows the nurses can ask the family members to identify their strengths and also weaker areas that they can improve on as a family. The 8 important qualities of family strengths Australians have identifies are Togetherness, Sharing activities, Affection, Support, Communication, Acceptance, Commitment and Resilience. (Smith LM 2008)

What do you believe those strengths are? The strengths I have seen provider by the writer is the use of restorative justice programs as a form of therapy that may be prevent juveniles from re-offending.
After a thorough review of the textbook and the course material, the specific family system approach that I choose to explore is the Bowenian Approach for this literature review. This specific family system approach is also known as the Bowen Family System Theory as well (D.V. Papero, 2006). The Bowen Family System Theory was established by Murray Bowen, a theorist and psychiatrist who specialized in treating children who were deranged and had schizophrenia (Rockwell, 2010). In the 1950s, Bowen wanted to explore a new venture so he decided that he wanted all of the family members of each child to be involved in an therapeutic process at the same time (Rockwell, 2010).
Based on the Clifton Strengths Assessment my top five strengths are strategic, deliberative, learner, maximize and individualization. As an individual, I rarely look into my weakness. I believe that when your too focused on your weakness, you forget about your strengths. Everything the book said is true, and we need to take the time to look at our strengths and make it perfect. It is true that in this world or the school system, we are taught to look at our weakness and correct it so that we can become stronger in our life. This book brings out the truth that I longed to hear for a long time. Invariably, I hear my professor tell their students that for them success in life, they must practice and look at our weakness. This book proves it wrong because for us to become successful, we must stay to our strengths’ path.
Family System Strengths: The third part of the assessment shows different aspects of day to day Hyppolite life and their functions. Various sections contribute to the well-being of individuals members and family as a while unit. There are 16 traits and attributes listed.
When a family decides to have a child, everything changes. That child becomes a number one priority. In order for a child to lead a healthy, functional life, a family needs to be strong and functional. When a family becomes dysfunctional, the most effected is the children. The children forget their children and act out which makes them difficult to live with. If a dysfunctional family, let alone the children, knew that therapy and help was available to them, more families would become healthy. In this paper, I will prove that children in dysfunctional families can self-diagnose and be encouraged to seek help and treatment so that their future can be affected by their own mistakes and not the mistakes of their families.
