China In this course we discussed different countries and their health systems, one of the countries that was not discussed was the country of China. China, more officially known as the People’s Republic of China is a country located on the continent of Asia, and is one of the largest populated countries in the world (Facts, 2016). China is the third largest country in the world in regards to its population, and only forty-seven percent of that population live in urban areas allowing them easier access to healthcare. The other fifty-three percent of the population live in rural areas of the country and they are not as lucky to have easily accessible health care. The inhabitants of the rural area actually have to travel to get to the hospitals and those travels can takes hours and sometimes days to reach the hospital (2016). In comparison the United States provides healthcare in a more widespread manner, there are hospitals in the urban areas that provide necessary healthcare and in the rural areas there are urgent care centers, and medical clinics readily available for those who may not be able to make it to the hospitals right away. This paper will discuss the impacts on the vulnerable populations in the country of China, women and maternal child health, the management of communicable and non-communicable diseases, China’s health promotion, and some behavioral and lifestyle factors…
