There are many Church of Christ, Scientist spread around internationally. The First Church of Christ, Scientist was founded by Mary Baker Eddy in 1879 in Boston, Massachusetts. Ms. Baker was an Influential Author as well as a religious leader. During her time she published “Science and Health” along with launching “The Christian Science Monitor”. Thus inspiring people to become a part of her new profound Church.

The word “Christian” has been used extremely, and in some cases strangely, for over 2000 years. Historically, it was born in the ancient city of Antioch. There, according to Acts 11:26, “the disciples were first called Christians” (ESV). Since that first-century usage, “Christian” has defined religious groups & sects, armies, athletic endeavors, political parties, and a host of entities and ideas which probably would make those original disciples shake their heads in disbelief. “The Christian Vegetarian Association? Wouldn’t have dreamt it,” Peter could have told Paul, if they both spoke English.

Gospel music, one of the most well-known genres in the black community, has been used as a tool of expression and encouragement for generations. While gospel music was nothing more then what some would call black spirituals slaves sung as they worked, as the course of history changed gospel music began evolving with it. The rise of gospel music opened doorways to not only embrace black culture, but to celebrate their religion. Gospel music is historically and personally significant because it is an escape when times get rough, it is freedom, and it encourages. The roots of gospel music spread back far into history.

I attended the Sunday service at Tabernacle Baptist Church and made several observations about gospel music in African American churches. Music is used as a tool of worship and praise as it is sung at several points of the service. Most of the singing is done during the praise and worship section of the service. Moreover, gospel music is also used to emphasize on the message of the preacher. At times the pastor would accompany a crucial point with a song before embarking back on his sermon. Gospel music is also employed as a transition to prayer, where worship songs are sang before the congregation engages in prayer.

What is Christian Hip-Hop Rap? Christian rap focuses on religion, tough time, happy/ faithful moments. Christian rappers use their type of music to share their faith. Christian rap has many different names such as holy hip hop,gospel rap,Gospel hip hop,and christ hop.

Non gospel preachers talk a lot about human love. They talk a lot about our love for God, and our love for others. They don't talk much about Bible love, or how God's love empowers us to love others.

The Progression from spirituals to “Black” Gospel Music Many people would refer to gospel music as religious songs or songs regarding to life as a Christian. Gospel music varies, which gives an alternative to Christian music with a mix of secular music. With it being many styles of Christian music, the performance, the lyrics, instruments and the formation, gives gospel music different meanings. To most, gospel is simply thanks and praise and worship to the Lord.

There are all sorts of variations around this theme of being too poor to help. Most of us have had times in our lives when money was tight, and giving to the Lord was difficult and a real sacrifice. Invariably though, we can find enough for some of the other things that are not essential—it’s usually a matter of priority and whether we value what the Lord has done for us enough to make giving work.

Gospel Music versus Inspirational Music Are they the same or different? “When the Saints go Marching in” is one of the first gospel songs that I remember singing a solo in church. I was around nine or ten years old. From a very early time in my life, gospel music has been a huge part of my life. I prefer gospel music over inspirational music because gospel music speaks to my soul plus it is the root of who I am today.

Praise, Worship, Singing to God... Christian music is a way to talk to our God. It can be rap, pop, country Or just about any genre. Christian music can get you in your feels or get you pumped up. Like I believe that Christian music is the best music because it is clean, it is real, and because it brings us closer to God.
