Establishing a companionship is fundamental when witnessing, regardless of what the other individual’s world view is. Furthermore, spending time with the individual is imperative. This might include making a meal if they are struggling or offering a letter of encouragement. A Christian should also have a servant’s heart when establishing a friendship to look for ways to bless others. Being compassionate, patient, and listening are essential. Asking questions about their life is another practical step in building a relationship. In addition, gaining his or her trust is important. Being respectful or his or her current worldview is crucial. In the same way, being transparent about your life as a Christian is helpful. Sounding perfect is unrealistic. …show more content…
In addition, being willing to listen to the other individuals' beliefs is helpful as well as being respectful. For example, if he or she practices Hinduism finding out their particular school (there are six: Sankhya, Vaisheshika, Nyaya, Mimamsa, Yoga and Vedantas similar to different domination). In general, Hinduism can be confusing as there are millions of gods. Knowing what they value is beneficial, for example, tradition and family are greatly valued in Hinduism. A Christian might encounter an abundance of barriers a Christian when introducing a Hundi to Jesus. First, forgiveness is not a component of Hinduism. Furthermore, salvation is not a free gift for them. These can be difficult concepts for them to understand because it is the opposite of what they have been taught. Hinduism teaches the law of Karma which can be explained also as cause and effect (Halverson). Being born again in Hinduism refers to reincarnation, while as a Christian this means to be made new by Christ (Halverson). God is personal. On the other hand, their gods are impersonal. “Some Hindus have difficulty understanding the significance of Christ crucifixion because their conviction that one must act nonviolently towards all like, which is the Hindu doctrine of ahimsa” (Halverson). Knowing the seminaries and the difference between being a Christian and Hinduism helps one to develop a productive conversation. In addition, there are cultural barriers. An individual who practices Hinduism might view changing religions as rejecting their culture or rejecting their family. These are a few examples of barriers one might encounter. The biggest challenge that I would personally encounter while presenting the Gospel to a Hindu would be having enough knowledge about Hinduism. In general, I find it difficult to understand other religions. While researching Hinduism I learned a lot, but all the gods, traditions, and
How could Christians use these beliefs to further enhance their interactions with those who are adherents of Hinduism?
How might/should a biblical worldview influence the way you think about, treat, and speak to others on a daily basis? When you look at things in a biblical worldview, you are abiding by the scriptures in the Bible. We as Christians should have a biblical worldview in life. In doing so, it will affect the way you live your life. Interacting with others is something that is done daily. Nonetheless, we should treat others how we would like to be treated Matthew 7:12). We should speak well towards others and encourage them (Ephesians 4:32). According to Gutierrez & Weider, “everyone should believe and do what is in their best interest as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else” (2014, pg. 76). As, Christians we should respect and love one another (John
Willard (1999) noted that proper regard for Jesus can also encourage us to follow his examples as teachers in Christian contexts. My ideal of Christian contexts includes the employment of “Christ like” behavior. In my ethical mind, I feel confident that my professional and personal interactions with others are tactful, professional, and honest.
Joel Osteen understands that. He offers principles in this book that shows you how to do that, and he includes the scripture to back it up. Although Osteen has been criticized for being a "shallow Christian" because of what he teaches, what he teaches is biblical, and it's also practical.
Imitating Christ’s Humility I choose Philippians 2:1-4 from the New International Bible, “Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.” I picked this verse because it is a challenge to all Christian to think and act like Jesus. Jesus is the supreme example of looking at things from other person’s point of view.
Given the proper investment of time and effort, this book will assist any believer in both repairing their interpersonal relationships as well as assisting in the eternal redemption of others. Thompson once convinced of the validity of this patter, both re-thought and re-taught everything he was doing in the field of evangelism. The pattern consists of seven concentric circles that represent seven different levels of relationships. Beginning with one’s self moving progressively outward through family, relatives, friends, neighbors and associates, acquaintances to person X (that unexpected kingdom connection). The author then leads the reader through a seven step process that helps insure that each relationship is whole and accessible to the Holy Spirits uninterrupted flow. That process begins with getting right. This encompasses the clearing of past offenses, getting right with God, yourself and others as mentioned in Matthew 5:23-24. The readers is then led to precede to survey existing relationships. This helps to determine those previously overlooked opportunities to share Christ love. Thirdly, we are to assume a posture of prayer, allowing God’s Holy Spirit to work in and through us in intercession and reconciliation. The fourth step in the process is the building of relational bridges into the lives of those God has revealed to us. These bridges are reinforced by step five, the showing of God’s love
As Christians, we should not only take care of our friends, and ourselves but also take care of everyone around the world to spread how great and generous God is. No matter who we are, where we come from, and what we do for living do not make difference in relationship with God. Taking an example from Good Samaritan story in Luke’s Gospel, in Jesus’ view, Samaritans who used to be despised and persecuted by Jews were same as His other children. Jesus tried to break the cultural boundaries between each stratum from priest to gentile and he even overcame with purity issues. However people have not been changed much of their attitude toward to others comparing to people in Jesus’ era. We are still living in the world with many hierarchy structures based on ethnicity, gender, age, and the status of society. Unconsciously I sometimes segregate myself from other people. It is truly shameful. It is mainly because we do not try to live like Jesus, because we do not follow his footstep, and because although we said things but we do not put those into action. Living off Christian’s life, we should acknowledge that we are all chosen by God; however, we should not act like Jews who think they are the only one who had been selected by God. We should spread God’s joyful words to other people who have not met

AgapeFest was a student run Christian music festival held here in Greenville Illinois and put on by Greenville College. Danara Moore, a music business professor and former faculty advisor, described the festival as created “by Greenville College students and run by Greenville College students”. Dr. Norman Hall, who was instrumental in ensuring that the two day festival was student driven, called the event the "Christian alternative to rock-n-roll in the sun". The line-up held a number of Christian artists and groups, such as Toby Mac, Switchfoot, Lecrae, Owl City, and Skillet. Reportedly, there were as many as 6,000 fans in attendance during certain years, and some years as much as $50,000 was earned. Sometimes, however, $50,000 was lost. Thus,
As Christian living in a diverse human society with many diverse cultures that have many different viewpoints in politics, government, science, and religion. So how does Christian conceive their godly duty sharing good news in this diverse and culture different world? This topic is no small issue. When comes to Christian evangelistic effort as one seeks to communicate the godly message in a culturally different world. This is question that every Christian must ask themselves because every culture is different it is everything which people do and think. Culture is a pattern of learned beliefs and behaviors that are part of human activity in life. Christian must learn human experience because certain things that we
Music plays a part in the lives of many people. Whether a person is on his or her way to work, working on a project, or taking some time to relax, chances are that person is listening to music. Most of today’s music, however, doesn’t really impact the youth, or at least not in a good way. Not everyone sees the potential of a simple song. Through its rhythm, music can bring people closer to God, through its emotion, music can inspire people, and through its message, music can encourage Christ-like behavior.
In my opinon the pillar of Christian Camaraderie is reaching out to others, sharing hope, and the love of Christ Jesus. I can use Hebrews 10:24-25 in my personal, professional, and spiritual goals every day, by simply giving hope, prayer, and love to all I encounter. I find myself daily listening to and watching people. I have learned there are a lot of people that are hurting in a lot of ways, this is my opportunity to offer a lending ear, a kind word, a prayer with the person, or sometimes a silent prayer for that person. I love to encourage people to be the best they can be, and to always believe that Gods cares about them. A sincere smile, and a kind word will go a long ways to help people, it just seems to brighten your day. The main thing
that you can trust them. I was always told beware of your surroundings. First off in my own opinion you have to prove to me that you are trustworthy and so much more. We all would love to have great relationships with our fellow church members but if we are not careful we will be misled and that is when isolation and mistrust plays a role. Matthew 7:15-20, beware if false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast unto the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know
The first time I saw you singing last January 27, 2016 was magical. Who would have thought that you and I, has now the same understanding and you now have a special place in my heart.
One important key point in seeking friendship with God. You must be spiritual minded. God does not like those who are of a carnal mind. We see this is Romans 8. Take time to read this chapter. It takes on a whole new light when read in the context of being a friend of God.
