Christianity and Islam are religions that originated from Judaism. Both are the two most powerful religions in the world. While exploring each of these religions, I was astounded how similar their beliefs seem. There many religions that are founded on Christianity, each one following the teachings of the Bible and adhering to the same doctrine of beliefs. Conversely, Islam has only two divisions, the Shiite and Sunni. While each branch of each religion is rich in its own tradition and rituals, it is the core belief systems of Christianity and Islam that have allowed these two religions to continue to grow in power.

Christians follow the teachings of Jesus Christ; Muslims follow the revelations of Muhammad, the last prophet of God. Christians believe that Jesus was the living divine. Muslims do not believe Mohammed was divine.
Christians believe the Bible is the complete Word of God; the New Testament of the Bible contains Gospels of Jesus Christ. Islamic follow the Qur’an, which they consider to be without errors. The Qur’an covers a wide variety of topics and discusses figures who are also found in the Christian Bible. Muslims believe the Qur’an is God’s Word revealed to Muhammad.

Christians believe all humans are born with the original sin of Adam, but through Jesus’ death and resurrected, we are forgiven. Islam believes that human weakness leads to sin but Allah forgives those sins if one believes in the fundamental doctrines of Islam. Christians believe that we must repent for our sins in order to be
