In the Christmas Carol the main character Scrooge’s has a business of being human, although he abuses that and does not do the right things. Scrooge is very rude to characters and has lost one of his only friends Marley. Scrooge also has a clerk that has more importance then you would think. Scrooge is all about money and himself. In the story the author Dickens wants the reader to understand that one’s business in life is to be kind to others even when you feel they do not deserve it.

When Scrooge tells the two gentlemen he does not want to give any money the two business men suggest Scrooge wants to remain ‘anonymous’ but Scrooge replies ‘are they no prisons ‘or ‘workhouses, Dickens is showing us just because you are a business man you do not have to be cruel like Scrooge. Towards the end of the novel Scrooge changes and kindly gives the two business man a large amount of money and the two businesses are astounded that Scrooge has changed and are wondering if he is another man.

A frosty rime was on his head, and on his eyebrows, and his wiry chin.” His wrinkled, aged, rough appearance reflects his inner feelings. According to the text, “Scrooge carried his own low temperature everywhere he went.” Scrooge’s demeanor was always low.
