Being a college student is seen as more respectable, rather then being a garbage man or janitor because of the way society looks down upon these types of careers.

Asa Candler was the founder of the Coca-Cola Company and is a tremendous example of how an entrepreneur can integrate his or her faith with their business. There are many cooks in the world, but I only know one that’s the best. The best cook is Calvin Burns Jr. He makes the best chicken castor spaghetti with homemade garlic bread, and steamed broccoli. This dish melts in your mouth and allows people to discover great cheap food. The second dish is Fried chicken, yams, collards and mustard greens mixed, mac and cheese, and mash potatoes and brown gravy. Most of Calvin’s dishes are both ethnic and basic. Calvin loves to cook international dishes plus cook soul food from his family background. These dishes he create all the time is one of the best dishes of this era. I agree with Dr. Iyengar assumption that many Americans believe that they should make their own choice, having more options leads to better choices and never say no to choices. I remember being taught to have more than one trade, have at least one other occupation that I could perform well, and always consider my choices. Upon graduation from high school, I wanted to join the US Army, because my father was drafted during World War II, my brother fought in Vietnam and another brother enlisted in the Army. If it was not for my parents giving me options, that is, to attend college rather than enlisting in the Army; I would not have continued my education immediately after graduating from high school.

When the males came back home to America, their previous exposure to the new cultures in Europe influenced them to resist the old American restraints and taboos. (235)

On the 25th of January in 1759, Robert Burns was the first born of William Burnes and Agnes Broun in Alloway, Scotland. The eldest of seven children, Robert grew up to be the poet that is well known today for his many famous poems, including “A Red, Red Rose.” Burns’ work was influenced by occurrences in his life, with his poems often discussing love, “aspects of farm life, regional experience, traditional culture, class culture and distinctions, and religious practice” (The Poetry Foundation). Although Robert Burns was a poet of the 18th century, his work continues to stir up a wide range of emotions for the many people who read his poems.

Choosing a right career path can be tough. Especially, when the parents are involved. Parents want their children to have a better life in the future so they want their children to be educated. When they are successfully graduate from the college they can get a high paying job and earn much more than their parents. However, does everyone listen and follow their parents’ decisions about the career? What happen if kids didn’t want what their parents told them to do? Is there a compromise and or one side needs to give in? It was a tough decision for me too. There was a lot of pressure on me. I was hesitated and somehow worried when my parents were involved, but I knew what I want for my career.

Growing up, as Tim Urban stated in his article; Why Generation Y Yuppies Are Unhappy “, we were raised “with a sense of optimism and unbounded possibility” (par 6). Moreover, what our parents didn’t tell us, is that we have to devote most of our entire life to achieve those possibility. However, our parents’ generation - the baby boomers, born in the 50s, raised by our grandparents. Were raised to “build practical, secured careers” (Urban par 4) But another for them to get to stable career they have to go through hard time, bad decisions and loss of love ones.
