Should High School student have to do a year of civil services right after high school? I believe that high school students should have to do one year of Civil Services right after high school. Here are three reasons why High School student should do a year of civil services right after high school. The first reason why It offers a valuable experience for high school students, it helps shift an individual’s thoughts and ways they view the world around them, it makes the individual have to work harder for what they want. If high school students don't do a year of civil services they won't know what it feels like to be relied on by your country, and much hard work that is put in to fighting for your country. It important to see different perspectives
Many schools require students to participate in community service, but I think this is a good idea. Many schools do not require students to volunteer in community service. I agree that students should have to volunteer to graduate. I think that students should be forced to volunteer for community service sometime in their high school career as it makes people work and shows them what work really is. It also gets people off there lazy tail.
High school administrations care about the well being of their students. They aim to guide the students in a way that will prepare them for the future ahead of each student. Thus administrations of high school have certain requirements that students must finish before graduating. There is one requirement that is commonly debated by high school administration and students, this topic being community service. Community service should not be required in order to graduate from high school since forcing students to volunteer leads to false information on their records, forcing students to do so does not mean that they will continue doing community service after they graduate, and it does not mean the student will mature.
The twelve years you spend of your life going to school, is about learning new things and preparing yourself for the real world. Towards the last four years of school, you start thinking about what you want to do after high school, you start taking classes that’s required for what you want to go into, looking at colleges where you can get your degree. College isn’t for everyone right after their done with High School. Other people don’t need college for what they’re going to do, they can just start there job right away. Some people that have no idea what they want to do might consider going into the military, then find something in any of the fields.
In "Serve or Fail," Dave Eggers argues that college should consider instituting a service requirement for graduation. Eggers gives us some purpose of college education to link with volunteering that help students getting beneficial effects. He gave some good points in terms of helping others out. He explains that college is too short to sit back and become the best foosball player and waste your time with no commitments to any after school obligations, etc. I think that everyone should be able to give some of their time to volunteer and put a smile on someone's face because they think that you care. I find Dave Eggers writing “Serve or Fail” very persuasive for the following reasons.
Community service is about helping people who are in need. we should pick if we want to help, not be forced to do it because we need it to graduate. That is not the point of helping people. Community service takes a lot of time. Students already have to much to do. Community service will take time away form more important things. Although some people have argued that community service should be required, closer examination will show that it should be the students choice and students all ready have enough things to do. High schools should not require community service to graduate.
Students should not be required to complete 100 hours of community service to graduate high school for many reasons. Some of which include the lack of extra free time, inability to go somewhere, and the potential to have a higher dropout rate.
Many high schools around the country have made community service hours mandatory in order for the seniors to graduate. Not everyone agrees that this should be a requirement because seniors already have enough on their plate. When seniors are about to graduate, it does not matter how many tasks they have to complete as a requirement if they do not feel like doing it and they have no motivation they will not complete
Pursuing a post-secondary education is very important because without that extra education you will not be able to get as good of a career as you would with a post-secondary education. With that extra education you have more opportunities of higher paying jobs and healthcare coverage. Also when students go to college they have a chance to listen to the Professors lecture on their personal field of study, so they know what they are talking about. With a college degree you are also open to more promotion opportunities. Also when you go into the college life it is a time where you get a big taste of the real world, you start to be independent, learn to save money and pay bills.
Mandatory Public service is a topic that has been debated for years. Joanne Levy-Prewitt, an independent college admission counselor, is in favor of making Public Services a requirement for graduated students. The relationship between service and education is significant and benefit from each other.
Some people believe that requiring students to volunteer in order to receive their high school diploma defeats the purpose of volunteering. They believe that it would cheapen the work that the students are doing. They believe that the students would not put the required effort into the volunteer work. However, once the students start volunteering, they will forget that they are required to. The students will be proud and have a feeling of accomplishment in the work they are doing and put effort into volunteering in the community. Therefore, students should have to do volunteer work to receive their
Is graduating a goal for you? To be the first one to graduate in your family? It’s like as if you’re almost there, just one more step but you need one more requirement to be eligible. In this article “Pro/Con: Should Student Service Learning Hours Be Mandatory?” By Claire Koeing, it states the opinion of why high school students should and shouldn’t do community service as a requirement to graduate high school. Many have their own opinion of why it is and isn’t important to have community service as a requirement. High school students mainly seniors already have so much stress and to do, but this does prepare them and give them a taste of how it will be after graduation.
Public prosecutors, accounting specialists, military personnel and law enforcement officials are just a few of the public services jobs filled by voluntary citizens from all walks of life, but what if a two year service of this kind was mandatory for all high school graduates? It could be said that this would bolster public services with an influx of personnel to provide a more robust service. Would the reasons to implement this type of service outweigh the consequences though? I don’t believe so. In fact, I believe that compulsory public service would only cause complications for the military, increase government spending and would be a direct violation of the Thirteenth amendment.
Every students should get a full four year experience, why rush into the workforce or college so early, you have the rest of your life for that. Students should have the full four year high school experience. Students may not be ready for the workforce yet, just after three years of high school. Students need a four year high school education, as well. Some people might argue that the program is good, students can get high school over with after three years, and start early in the workforce for better experience. Obviously, after three years students aren't really mature they are still teenagers. Some students may not be ready for the workforce or college yet just after three years, it may be stressfull. Students need a full four year high school experience and education.
Military and public service should not be mandatory for all high school graduates because some students have health issues. These health issues will cause the military to possess sickly men and women who cannot do their jobs properly. Health issues would also hinder public service. Students would struggle to complete their service if they had serious health issues. Many students would be seriously injured or die with mandatory service.
Having to plan throughout the years of High School when and how you are going to get community service hours in can be very stressful in many ways. High School is when people really start buckling down and making sure to get everything done, from homework to studying for big tests. Being forced to do the extra three hours or so of work everyday could build a great deal of stress for students by taking away the time to do those things. It could also cut into the time to ready for the upcoming sports that many students take part in.
