Although Classic Rock is beloved by a lot of people, some people think that Classic Rock is dead or isn’t what it used to be. This statement is untrue because classic rock is getting introduced to younger and younger generations, it’s being put on clothing, and it is being played on radio stations. This statement is untrue because classic rock is getting introduced to younger and younger generations and its being carried on through clothing and radio stations. When the radio stations stop playing classic rock and clothing companies stop producing classic rock symbol on their products, than classic rock will be dead, but until then it is safe to say that the genre of Classic Rock is going nowhere. As small of a subject that this might seem, it actually gives more insight than you think to the topic of how Classic Rock isn’t dead. Classic Rock getting put on clothing shows that it is something that people enjoy wearing and it will not die if people continue to wear and enjoy how it looks (The Classic Rock logos and symbols, not the actual music). The idea that having Classic Rock being put on clothing keeps it alive is supported by a search result on Amazon.com. The search result for “Classic rock clothing” comes out to be over 9,000 results. This not only shows that many people are making and selling Classic Rock clothing, but there is a very high demand for it, and if something has such a high demand that it gets over 9,000 search results on a very popular website than it probably doesn’t have a chance of going away or dying off for a …show more content…
Everything about this claim is just untrue. Classic Rock is still alive and there still are bands and people producing good, quality music. If you go to Google and search “New Classic Rock”, the search engine will pull up over 35 million results in under .5 seconds. This grants more insight into how Classic Rock is still alive and still being produced by different bands. One particular band called “The Struts” has been producing new music in the Classic rock genre since 2009. A few of their songs including but not limited to are Put Your Money On Me, Kiss This, and One Night Only. these are only 3 out of the 27 songs that the Struts have made. The song Put Your Money On Me has over 2 million view on youtube, the song Kiss This has over 3 million views on youtube, and the song One Night Only has over 500 thousands (this isn’t as much as the previous songs mentioned, but 500 thousand is till a lot of views). The amount of views for each of these songs combined with the overwhelming amount of songs that have been released within the past nine years reveals that those who say that Classic Rock is dead because no one is creating music are wrong, Classic Rock is still around and growing through bands like the

A year later, in 1960, nine-year-old Ruby Bridges became the first black child to attend the William Frantz Elementary School in New Orleans, Louisiana. Similar to the experience of the Little Rock Nine, The National Guard had to escort Bridges into the school. White parents yanked their children out of William Frantz Elementary, and only one teacher agreed to teach Bridges.
Rock music went through this period right at a time when America had a new generation of people who had time to go to concerts and some money to spend on them. At this same time, mom and dad were making a return to the lives of their kids (p. 70). One could always wonder if Buddy Holly and his band had lived, what evolutions music may have made. Would the Beatles and the Monkeys have made the trip to the United States and had a vacuum of artists to step into? Maybe rock did not influence the era as much as the era created a fertile environment for “Rock ‘n’
Rock and roll was born in the 1950's and has influenced our pop culture and music for the last six decades ever since its creation from blues, rhythm and blues, country, and gospel music. It has since then created a large variety of genres of rock such as folk rock, country rock, southern rock, corporate rock, art rock, heavy metal, glam rock and many more (Larson). Many of the genres created by Rock and Roll are still listened to this day and has also influenced other types of music and artists. The large amount of variety of music that is present today is due to the fragmentation of rock and roll and what the audience wanted to hear. This lead to the creation of a large variety of genres of rock to please every rock listener in the world.

he music we today call "rock n' roll" is a huge icon of the 50's era. Emerging onto the music scene with legends such as Elvis Presley in its wake. This is where it all started. After WWII, a quarter of Americans moved. This gave urban music a new southern, sacred sound.
A lot of the invasion stayed in that generation, many bands and songs that were big then are all but totally forgotten about now. Bands such as the Searchers, the Swinging Blue Jeans, and Gerry and the Pacemakers all had one or two great hits which stayed in that time. This however, was part of the beauty of it all. Some of the music stayed with us thirty years later, and that's great, it gives us a good sampling of the time. On the other hand, you have the music that was meant for the era, and not for future generations. That is part of the uniqueness of it all, and Lester Bangs says it best when he tells how it doesn't matter that the music isn't listened to anymore, that's not what it was for. It was for the time, it was a "timepiece".

The United States is considered to be the world’s largest national economy. As one of the most popular music genres, rock music has grown and expanded to incorporate many styles throughout the years. A rock band usually consists of a vocalist, an acoustic drum kit played with a strong beat, usually a back beat, and features electric and acoustic guitars. From its beginnings in the late 1950s and early 1960s until the present day, rock has changed styles seemingly every decade as new bands become popular because of their unique style of music. Throughout the years rock has influenced our culture and helped shape the world we live in today.
Rock music has come a long way since its development in the early 20th century. The genre, defined “as a merger between rhythm&blues and country” (Scaruffi, The History of Rock Music:1955-1966), started out more as an underground market, but ended up becoming a significant aspect of American popular music history. Rock-n-Roll music produce many legendary artists who will for ever be known as innovators of the genre. Elvis Presley and Chuck Berry were some of the many artists in Rock-n-Roll who will always live on in their music. Many teenagers were also to identify it due to its rebellious nature their disapproval of the cold war. Towards the end of the 1950s, Rock-n-Roll was ending on a particularly bad note, with a brief decline:
When people hear the genre “rock and roll,” they often think of performers like Elvis Presley, AC/DC, and Aerosmith. Those bands have provided the foundation for rock and roll, but the newer bands have to carry over from the bands of the 1960’s, 70’s, and 80’s to the bands of the 1990’s and the 2000’s. The new generation of bands has just as much, if not more, popularity than the bands of the older generation. Bands do not gain popularity just by showing up to rehearsal, though. Gaining popularity can take years of making music, and sometimes establishing credibility takes more time than other bands. The more popular bands that have many fans are bands like Three Days Grace, Alter Bridge, and Avenged Sevenfold. These three bands have had
You ask the question, why did the civil rights movement and the pill survive, yet the style of rock from the 60’s died even though it was revolutionary? I feel like this is because the style of the 60’s doesn’t really apply to modern day the way that the civil rights movement and the pill do. People are still fighting for their rights and women still use the pill as a form of birth control, though other methods of birth control have been invented. Music on the other hand, that's different. Music has to do with style, and style changes as time goes on, but the civil rights movement and the pill have stayed with us until today because they have long standing issues. Civil rights and the pill have links to problems that many people face and factors
Can being involved in extracurricular activities both inside and outside of school help students increase their chances of doing well during school? Many people in school, no matter what age or grade one may be in, are involved in some type of extracurricular. Of this same group, however, some only participate due to their guardians deciding what they will be involved in as a child. Whether it be attached to the school they attend or not, many people aren’t aware of the many positive effects that extracurriculars may have on their own self, or their child. An integral part of extracurriculars are the students themselves. Without the students showing if they are able to further develop any life skills while participating in the activity, then the teachers and coaches of the like will continue to provide a means for this activity to take place, making everything that any student learns while partaking in this activity useless and not worth any students time. While being involved in extracurricular activities can help boost one’s confidence in the activity they choose to be participating in, during school the activity can also help develop an individual’s sense of learning and sense of being that they would not get the chance to experience otherwise.
