Instead of the alternative of sitting there worried over how much time you have, and trying to choke down your food to finish it. Sometimes not even getting to say a word to anyone. Kids already stress enough over their work, and out of school activities, or things happening a home. So why do they need anymore stress? Stress causes kids to do bad academically, because it wears them down, making it hard for them to do their best. Kids might even get a little time to do some of their work at lunch, if given even a little bit of extra time. If you have forgotten an assignment, and you don't have study hall or panther time you're out of luck. Unless you do it at lunch, but with how much time were given now, that would mean giving up eating.

Switching classes is positive because teachers have the opportunity to focus on one subject, materials needed are less costly and each teacher has more time to plan lessons. Children will be ready, early on, to switch classes in middle school and high school. These kids will know the procedure to switch classes, rather than entering middle school and not knowing the way that they should switch classes. Switching classes also give kids responsibilities to get to a certain place, at a certain time and they will truly need to learn this responsibility for the rest of their

If an hour and half of school were added every day, students would miss after school activities. Students will miss the fun extracurricular activities. and students won’t get the exercise they need.

In a recent survey 81% of students reported they were late to class because the passing period was too short and they either had to use the restroom or there class is too far away. Students should be able to have longer passing periods for restroom usage, and to have a little nutritional snack before the next class. If students had more time, they’d have time to get prepared for the next class. Lastly there would be less detention slips given out. Since they are so short students are upset because they are tardy and have to go to detention.

     Truancy can occur among students if an open campus is accepted. If students have the privilege to leave school for fifty whole minutes on their own, then they have the freedom to not come back. Not only could grades improve, but so would the school's attendance record. Mr. Principal, students are more willing to come to class if there is something to look forward to. Instead of school being boring and torturous, it could be viewed as an opportunity to put the skills learned in their Critical Thinking class to the test. There would also be less problems waking up and therefore making it to class on time. No more napping in class, instead students would be note-taking and teachers would see the increased enthusiasm in their class. The teachers would be motivated to work even harder to teach their students all they can. Why would teachers want to teach if they know that the students couldn't care less? If teachers see students participating and not acting out then they would also be motivated to help the students learn even more than what is specified in the curriculum. Regular and advanced students would surpass any of the other schools. The school would work at least ten times more efficiently and productively. Students should be allowed to switch classes during school.
