CAUSE OF INJURY
Clavicle fractures are often caused by a direct blow to the shoulder. This can happen during a fall onto the shoulder or a car collision. A fall onto an outstretched arm can also cause a clavicle fracture. In babies, these fractures can occur during the passage through the birth canal. A fall on a outstretched arm can cause a clavicle fracture as well as falling on the end of the shoulder. In junction with a direct blow, direct impact against the clavicle from the front or even above can cause the injury. We often expect most of shoulder injuries to occur from sports but they also do in Vehicle trauma from a car, motorcycle or bike accident.
Elbow fractures are often the result of either a fall or a direct blow to the elbow. The fracture type will depend in large part upon how the person falls or gets hit. For example, someone who falls onto an outstretched arm will hurt a different part of the elbow

In Herodotus’ The History and in the Mike Webster Sports Injury Series articles, both Croesus and Mike Webster are significant examples of being a “horrible warning”. The characters become fixed on something they believed defined them; for Croesus it was being king and for Mike Webster it was being the face of football. The obsession of keeping what they believed defined them, ruined both of their lives. They kept on looking at what they possessed in material goods and not on the important things, such as health or family until it was too late.

People tend to put knee braces on to help with relief of pain of an mcl sprain.
CNN writers Jason Hanna, Debra Goldschmidt, and Kevin Flower wrote “81 of 97 Testes Ex-NFL Players Had Brain Disease Linked to Head Trauma”. This article talks about that pros and cons of playing football specifically CTE a disease linked to head trauma. Sports are full of injuries. Some are life changing, some are temporary. Everyone loves sports though. Especially full contact sports such as football. Football causes the most concussions than any other
This evidence based practice article explores the persistent concussive symptoms (symptoms lasting more than 90 days post-injury) in students from middle school, high school, and college that obtain many sport-related concussions. The studies by Harmon et al (2013) and Doolan, Day, Maerlender, Goforth & Brolinson (2012), found that just in the United states alone, there are over a million concussions every year and there are at least 50% of the concussions that are not reported. One that acquires a concussion will go through neurocognitive testing, see a physician, and go through screenings and more. Although these methods for management are being done to treat a concussion, there is not any evidence based practice to say that those methods are actually working. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to explore multiple treatment options, clinical rationale, and outcomes for each treatment. There were 24 cases a clients that were referred the Clinic at the University of Oregon for persistent concussive symptoms related to a sports injury. There were 14 women and 10
College football players are naturally at risk of injury. The reasons why are due to the aggressiveness of the sport, lack of proper technique, technology, and equipment used by players. The crazy thing is however, that's what we sign up for on a regular basis. There have been rule changes to help avoid injury, but a few rules isn't what is going to fix things. There must be new gear and medical test to make sure players are safe. If players wish to continue playing for a long period of time attention to their bodies is a necessity. Far too many football players careers are cut short due to brain injury and damage.Football players need better medical attention for their bodies.
Is it worth the risk of injury to play football at any level? When this question is asked to athletes or people that have never played the sport, they might tell you no. When asked to the athletes who have played the sport of American Football, then the chances of you getting a yes are much higher. With the correct equipment and the correct forms, there is a lower chance of receiving a long-term injury then there would be any other way.
The primary cause of a fracture is trauma from car accidents, sports injuries and falls. The trauma may be a direct blow to the bone or an indirect force from muscle contractions or pulling on the bone. Other factors that may contribute to fractures include: vigorous exercise, malnutrition, genetic factors, and osteoporosis. The most common cause of a distal radius fracture is falling onto an outstretched arm (Ignatavicius & Workman, 2013). “Wrist fractures of the distal radius are common and may present special problems for the surgeon and therapist. There are several categories of distal radius fractures, but the Colles fracture of the distal radius is the most common injury to the wrist and may result in limitations in wrist flexion and extension, as well as forearm pronation and supination, resulting from the involvement of the distal radioulnar joint” (Early, p.613).
High school cheerleaders who have experienced an injury mid season should work on getting healed because it is more important to be healthy than to be permanently injured. It is important to take the time to rest an injury than push through the pain. For example, I tore my ACL in high school my junior year during cheer a month before our state championship. I was learning a new stunt and the flyer fell right on my leg. With tears in my eyes, I went to go get a drink of water. The pain hurt so much I could barley walk. My coach told me to walk it off. Her inconsideration upset me. Over a three-week span my knee continued to ache. I still went to practice because I did not want to let my team down. As a team we were conditioning, and I was doing
In the U.S there are thirty million or more children/teens that participate in sports. Out of the 30 million children/teens that participate in sports, 3.5 million of those children/teens get injured each year.
Injuries play a big role in an athlete's career and his or her overall health, although minor injuries are often nothing to worry about they can lead to something serious especially if the injury is repeatedly being aggravated. scrapes, cuts, bruises, and broken bones are all things to worry about. When a player is injured he or she is losing play time and money and why risk this when there is small but giant steps that can be taken to prevent injuries. But brain injuries are something much more serious even if the player says not to worry because something worse than losing playtime is losing your life. Albert C. hergenroeder has written an article on preventing sports injuries, he says that there are 3 million sports injuries among kids around
