The FFA mission statement reads “Learning to Do, Doing to Learn, Earning to Live, Living to Serve”. The Columbia City FFA Chapter worked to fulfill this mission statement by embarking in a new community service project called Read to Feed with the Indiana FFA Association and Heifer International. Through this program, FFA members were provided the opportunity to impact first grade elementary students by heightening their awareness of international agricultural issues through service and literacy. Cathedral High School is a prestigious and catholic school at El Paso available strictly for men and 9th graders to 12th graders trying to accomplish excellence in their students, preparing them for their college studies. The school's mission referred in their website is "Cathedral High School teach students lead through holistic and competitive environments, and also cultivate our school's intellectual, athletic and spiritual gifts in them." The mission is accompanied by a beautiful quote from the bible. Princeton's public schools district's statement is, “Our mission is to prepare all of our students to lead lives of joy and purpose as knowledgeable, creative and compassionate citizens of a global society.”(Princeton Public Schools - Core Mission Statement and Educational Philosophy N.p). They will prepare these students to have successful and happy futures; the students will be creative, knowledgeable and compassionate. This district expects the people that work there, to teach the students to the best of their ability, in a creative, caring and diverse way. Whole Foods, like many other organizations, has a motto that guides their day-to-day business. Their motto is, “Whole Foods, Whole People, Whole Planet” (Our Mission and Vision, n.d.). This motto emphasizes that they are not just focused on food retail. Their mission goes beyond that; they are concerned for the well-being of their customers and employees, and even the planet as a whole. While whole foods does not have a separate mission statement, they do have a strong vision statement. This vision statement compensates for the lack of a mission statement because it brings them both together. They identify their deepest purpose as an organization to be “helping support the health, well-being, and healing of both people — customers, team members, and business organizations in general — and the planet” (Our Mission and Vision, n.d.). This vision statement identifies the main purpose of the company. Their main reason for existing is to provide healthy food for their employees and customers in order to help promote a healthier lifestyle. Their vision statement also emphasizes the importance of both customers and employees. By identifying their Team Members as people of importance, they are showing that they truly care about their well-being and they are not just concerned about making a profit. Their statement is also goal-oriented. It gives the company a sense of direction so that everyone knows the main goal they are to be working towards.

Odyssey I also believe that upholding your company mission statement will determine if you will be employed or unemployed. In order to achieve this, the curriculum should meet the specific needs of young adolescents. “The middle school curriculum must reflect a genuine concern for young adolescents by addressing self-esteem, self-identity, peers and friendships. Subjects should be taught through genuine, interesting, and relevant activities that are assessed authentically and that reflect both the diversity of learners and the usefulness and importance of the subject to contemporary society” (Manning & Bucher, 2012, p. 84). Teachers should be adamant in incorporating interesting and relevant examples when choosing what classroom materials to use. Apple Valley Middle School meets the unique needs of young adolescents by providing authentic instructional strategies such as service-learning experiences like the Knights Making a Difference Club. They encourage cooperative learning, debates on educational topics, field trips, and presentations that foster creativity, curiosity, and the development of social skills. Instruction “should capitalize on the skills, abilities, and prior knowledge of young adolescents; use multiple intelligences; involve students’ individual learning styles; and recognize the need for regular physical movement" (AMLE, 2010, p. 22).
