All season long we were hoping for a team out east to emerge as a potential challenge to the Cleveland Cavaliers. While the east has gotten much more competitive than in years past, with parity throughout, as shown by two game sevens in the first round. The parity has been from seeds two through eight and Cleveland is still the class of the east. At the beginning of the year we thought the Chicago Bulls had the best chance of challenging them, well they didn't even make the playoffs. Followed by the the Hawks, Raptors and Heat. The Hawks were coming off a 60 win season last year and lost to the Cavs in the Eastern Conference Finals. Surely if given another chance they would put up a fight and at least challenge them. It hasn't quite worked out that way in these conference semifinals. The Hawks have been demoralized in this series. In Game 1 coming back from 18 points down only to lose in the fourth. Then getting absolutely crushed in Game 2 after a historic shooting performance by Cleveland where they made an NBA record 25 threes. Despite the blowout in Game 2 the Hawks regrouped at home and held a nine point lead in the fourth only to be outscored by 19 in 4th and lose. At this point with the way the series has gone I can't see the Hawks winning Game 4 this afternoon. …show more content…
If LeBron had his choice we all know he would much rather face his former teammate and buddy Dwayne Wade, but James should be careful for what he wishes
The 2016-2017 Chino Hills Basketball season was clearly one for the books. The team was full of great players, and they definitely have a bright future ahead of them. Although the end of the season didn’t result in a CIF win the way last year did, the Huskies still had a great season. There were many great memories and great games that will always be remembered. Chino Hills’ season ended Tuesday, March 14 in the second round of State CIF against Bishop Montgomery. The Huskies finished with a very impressive 30-3 record. There were some great moments, such as when sophomore commit to UCLA, LaMelo Ball, scored 92 points in one game! Not only did he score 92 points, LaMelo dedicated the game to a Husky student, Lexi Anderson. He was able to make
The NBA Finals showcased Cleveland not just regionally, but across the world. It shed new light on a city that has been through some rough times in the
I think that the Warriors are better because even if they didn’t have Stephen Curry they still would be better than the Cavaliers. They have good ball handlers so they still would be making shots and not having to worry about the ball getting turned over every time. Some people argue that they wouldn’t be good because Stephen Curry scores a lot of points and they would have all those points if he wasn’t on the teams. But If he wasn’t on the team then they would still
In the NBA, it’s no new news that the Cleveland Cavaliers star, Lebron James, and the players in the history of the Boston Celtics organization are big longtime rivals. This rivalry goes as far back as 2007. In 2007 a major shift in NBA History happened when star Lebron James left the Cleveland Cavaliers to go join stars Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh on the Miami Heat. This happened because star Lebron James felt as if the Cavaliers GM was not helping the team enough, as they could not get past the Boston Celtics in the playoffs. As Lebron went to Miami he was able to win two back to back championships in the four years he was there. This made things worse for the Boston Celtics. Not only were they losing every year to the same team, their team
Three time NBA champion, Lebron James in his interview, “Lebron: I’m coming back to Cleveland” notes that he is returning to Cleveland after his four years in Miami after abandoning Cleveland in 2010. He supports his claim by first stating his feelings for Ohio, and what Ohio meant to him. Secondly, he explains why he abandoned Cleveland, and it was because of winning championships. Lastly, he promises Cleveland that he will give it his all to bring Cleveland’s championship drought to an end. James’ purpose is to prove to Cavalier fans that somewhere in his heart he still has a place for Ohio in order to convince the fans to believing in him once more. He establishes an enthusiastic tone for his fans, and Cavalier
For this assignment I choose to attend a Los Angeles Clippers game even though I am a big Lakers fan; mainly because it better fit into my budget and the appeal of watching this young high flying team made it seem like it was going to be a good night. Going into the game it was being dubbed as the “battle of the double-doubles” as the Minnesota Timberwolves led by Kevin Love and his 28 straight double doubles took on Blake Griffin and his 26 straight double doubles.
The last time the Cavs and Bulls met each-other in the postseason was in 2010 when Cleveland won (4-1) in the First Round. The Cavaliers also won the 2014-15 regular season series against Chicago (3-1). The Wine and Gold are undefeated against Chicago in playoff games at Quicken Loans Arena (3-0). Including the regular season and the 2015 First Round series against, the cavs have won 22 their last 23 games at The Q.
People might think that the 76ers are the laughing-stock of the NBA, however, the 76ers have more championships than twenty-four current NBA teams. The history is occupied with amazing moments and tremendous players such as Allen Iverson, Julius Erving, and Wilt Chamberlain. The 76ers haven't won a championship since 1983, however, this team has been indestructible in the effort they give every game.
The Boston Celtics' season finally came to an end on Thursday night, as the Cleveland Cavaliers wrapped up a 4-1 series win in the Eastern Conference Finals at TD Garden. The young Celtics reached their first conference finals since 2012 and were led by their second team All-NBA point guard Isaiah Thomas, whose breakout performance led to a discussion of his name being mentioned in the MVP race. Some will look at this Celtics season for what happened in the conference finals against the Cavaliers. The team played their worst basketball at home, losing all three games at the TD Garden, and only played six competitive quarters of basketball (Game 3 and the first half of Game 4).
Going into the season we would not be surprised to see Cleveland against Boston. However, as the playoffs were set to start we thought that there was a very small chance that both the Celtics and the Cavaliers would face off in a rematch of last years Eastern Conference Finals. That thought was strengthened after the Cavaliers struggled into game 7 against the Pacers. Despite this so-called diversity that these two teams have had to experience, here we are with LeBron trying to extend his consecutive NBA Finals appearances to 8, and the Celtics to defy all odds once again and advance to the finals without there star player Irving.
According to ESPN NBA Senior Writer Ramona Shelburne, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver plans to address the "significant issue" of teams resting players. Silver has informed all teams that this issue will be a top priority in the NBA Board of Governors meeting on April 6th in New York. He also made it clear that teams that don't abide by the league's rules there will be "significant penalties."
The 76ers have changed the dynamics in American sports culture. People across America usually ignore the city of Philadelphia when it comes to sports but not anymore. With this advancement in the playoffs by the 76ers more people have been looking at this city and saying they are crazy. This occurs because after every major win the people of Philadelphia
Telling a lie that contains no truth can be referred to as an out-and-out lie. Throughout 1984, Orwell includes many out-and-out lies which mainly result from the Party rewriting and creating new history in order to censor the thoughts and learning of the society in Oceania. One of the most prominent and most obvious examples of an out-and-out lie committed by the Party comes when Winston explains an assignment that was given to him at work, “It was true that there was no such person as Comrade Ogilvy, but a few lines of print and a couple of faked photographs would soon bring him into existence” (Orwell 46). Winston’s use of the word “faked” clearly illustrates the principles of an out-and-out lie. Ultimately, the Party asked Winston to create
Satirical works are meant to ridicule aspects that are often seen as controversial or unfavorable in society. In the book The Canterbury Tales, Geoffrey Chaucer uses irony, humor, and satire to reveal how rampant the corruption of the Church was during medieval times mainly in the Pardoner's tale. Along the way to Canterbury, the Pardoner discloses corrupt secrets about himself to everyone else in the group. In a way, these secrets represent how dishonorable the Church was during the middle ages.
Adopting the meta-leadership solutions to leadership training would allow for integration of many actors into the process, starting with the line officers who need to be socialized to the needs of professional development that is not always initiated by the organization, followed by the responsibility, on the part of the supervisors, to reach out to external bodies and engage them in the delivery of the ongoing leadership development (Haberfeld, 2013, p. 7). The following diagram below illustrates the five dimensions of meta-leadership.
