I have always enjoyed supporting and improving the wellbeing of people. The NHS itself works to improve the health and welfare of people whilst being a family unit for staff. The support and remarkable care I witnessed whilst working to meet the needs of patients is what inspired me to pursue a career further in the healthcare profession. I am keen about being a part of the future of the NHS, as I would like to go into a working friendly community. Working alongside medical professionals such as doctors, psychologists and nurses whilst working for the Birmingham Community Healthcare Foundation Trust and later as a care worker in the community, I have gained an understanding on what is important when attending work every day - the patient's health.

The direct supervision requirement is 130 hours. At least 70 hours must be under the auspices of a qualified LICSW. A list of approved supervisors can be found on the site of the Washington Society for Clinical Social Workers.

I provide counseling for members of the congregation I serve.
With a master 's level education in social work, I see myself envisioning clients’ health and well-being. As a student, I will study and practice techniques, beyond a generalist perspective, that will allow me to give clients hope and the ability to see something greater than what they are facing. Upon completion of a Master of Social Work direct practice degree and certificates in gerontology and mental health programs, I intend to become a licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I will competently incorporate specialized skills in different professional settings while developing my knowledge of a wide range of social issues and professional standards. With commitment, I wish to develop skills that will enable me to create or find hidden resources and services for my future clients, create platforms through counselling for victims of trauma.

The decision to take the clinical route as a second year MSW graduate student, was one that took no hesitation to make. My passion for children and the preservation of families have been a propelling factor in my Social Work career; both academically and professionally. These two entities have motivated me to remain steadfast on the journey to obtaining my MSW so I can continue to be a vessel for children and families who are in need of support and empowerment. The clinical spectrum of social work practice has strengthened my ability to work proficiently with multiple clients and perform well when assisting families in different realms of social work practice. The knowledge gained during my four years as an undergraduate BSW student and
Up to 2001 no regulatory council existed for social work profession as a whole. After graduation, I would like to work in the mental health and substance abuse field. It’s my goal and intention to provide treatment to individuals and families who are struggling with mental, behavioral, emotional disorders and substance abuse through counseling and therapy. However, in order to achieve that goal, first, I had to become a License Clinical Social Worker. if possible, my anticipation is to get a license in California or Colorado. However, the social work licensing stated that if a Clinical social worker is going to diagnose and treat mental disorders, the person has to become licensed in all 50 states. I don’t know how that works, but I supposed I will find out. Also, the process requires not only master’s level education,
Heather believes the primary differences that separate a clinical mental health counselor and other mental health professionals such as: a social worker and psychologist are due to the type of work they focus on primarily. Although, social workers, and psychologist may counsel clients, the majority may have more in depth specification of study. I am interested in applying for the School Social Worker position. I am a Licensed Master Social Worker with five years post-masters experience. My vast knowledge of the New York City public school system, clinical background, and strength-based perspective have strengthened my candidacy for this job.
School social workers work within schools to provide a variety of social, emotional, and mental health services to students to support overall success. The intent of this research is to evaluate the significance of having a school social worker available to general education students within the Owatonna High School setting and to examine the gaps in services that may have appeared since removal of this position in 2009. Various related studies were examined to outline a range of ways in which school social workers are used to support student success. During this study, a total of seven employees of the Owatonna School District were interviewed regarding school social work. As a whole the participants identified a large number of gaps

When working in a field of expertise the experts in that area need to know what defines that field. Social work, with its roots over a hundred years old, started out simply offering assistance to others, has grown and changed, and is currently reconnecting with its roots (Bisman, 2004). Bisman (2004) emphasizes the importance of being an advocate of justice and keeping the field focused on the “social” part of social work. This push to keep social work focused on the needs of others defines social work today. Social work focuses on providing aide to the needy and increasing awareness of those that are oppressed.
Upon obtaining a MSW, my career plans are to become a LCSW so that I can counsel individuals whether it is with children or adults. The practice setting that I see myself working with after graduation would be the school system. As a social worker I will be exposed to many different population groups but the two that interest me the most that I would like to work with are children and the health/mental health population. Early detection of mental health and behavior issues in children and adolescents critical. Working in the school system I would be provided the opportunity to combine my interest of working with children and serving the needs of the mental health population. Children are very vulnerable and without the proper guidance and support they can easily make bad decisions creating a cycle that leads to even worse decisions.
