Western Conference third and fourth leading teams Oklahoma City Thunder and Los Angeles Clipper have tested the waters, as potential playoff showdown with the two ballclubs is fast approaching. The dynamic duo of Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook once again bannered their lethal combination on the floor. Durant scored a game-high 30 points with 12 rebounds to go along with 7 assists and 1 steal and Westbrook had another triple-double game performance under his name with 25 points, 20 assists and 11 rebounds to overwhelm the visiting Clippers with a 120-108 victory Wednesday evening. "Just a win, man," Westbrook, who shot 9 for 15 from the field, said. "More important just to see all my teammates happy and all see my teammates enjoy the game
For this assignment I choose to attend a Los Angeles Clippers game even though I am a big Lakers fan; mainly because it better fit into my budget and the appeal of watching this young high flying team made it seem like it was going to be a good night. Going into the game it was being dubbed as the “battle of the double-doubles” as the Minnesota Timberwolves led by Kevin Love and his 28 straight double doubles took on Blake Griffin and his 26 straight double doubles.
During the 2013 playoffs Russell suffered a career threatening injury when he tore his meniscus. Westbrook would end up sitting out most of the regular season. Once Westbrook came back from his injury almost immediately teammate kevin durant had a foot injury and missed basically the whole 2014-2015 season. With Westbrook now being basically the only real scoring option he went off and recorded six triple doubles from eight games and averaged 28.7 points per game. Although Russell had a very nice season the Oklahoma city thunder did not succeed in making the
Durant entered the league a year before Westbrook did. They started their careers together and eventually became one of the most dynamic duos in the league. In 2012 they led their team to the NBA Finals against the Miami Heat but were blown out in five games. A union that lasted over eight years was finally over, Durant had a new home and was off to a new journey. Westbrook’s rampage began after hearing he signed with the Warriors. Westbrook was in disbelief, of all things Durant was a Warrior. He had left to the team that had just beat them. Many saw this as a downfall for the Thunder, but all
“If we are shooting the ball well, we can beat anybody. The playoffs are fun and the kids are excited.”
This season Russell Westbrook has been putting up the most insane stats that nobody has seen, before. Russell Westbrook is averaging a triple double which is unheard of. We haven't seen anybody like this since Michael Jordan averaging a triple double a game. Averaging a triple double is unheard of a triple double is three parts of offense or defense in double digits. For example thirty points, ten rebounds, and ten rebounds.
"We had a couple of lulls in the game here and there, but for the most part we were solid all night. They didn't get nothing easy," Durant, who shot 6 for 14 from the field and hit 4 of 9 from the three-point range, said.
Oklahoma City Thunder make mincemeat of the league’s lowly Philadelphia 76ers with a 111-97 victory at the Wells Fargo Center on Friday night.
“Knowing that I made a perfect pass feels better. It feels good to know that I can help the team out and know that I can do my job.
The 2016-2017 Chino Hills Basketball season was clearly one for the books. The team was full of great players, and they definitely have a bright future ahead of them. Although the end of the season didn’t result in a CIF win the way last year did, the Huskies still had a great season. There were many great memories and great games that will always be remembered. Chino Hills’ season ended Tuesday, March 14 in the second round of State CIF against Bishop Montgomery. The Huskies finished with a very impressive 30-3 record. There were some great moments, such as when sophomore commit to UCLA, LaMelo Ball, scored 92 points in one game! Not only did he score 92 points, LaMelo dedicated the game to a Husky student, Lexi Anderson. He was able to make
While in 8th grade, my oldest brother would be going to highschool next year. Deciding where to go to High School took a long time for him. He finally decided to go to Rockhurst after a long debate between Miege. Then, 3 years later in 6th grade, my While in 6th grade and my other older brother in 8th grade, he would be going to highschool next year. As well, he decided to go to Rockhurst. At that point, it hit me. I knew that I wanted to go to Rockhurst after seeing both of my brothers get accepted and attend there. During the spring of my 7th grade year, I went to see my oldest brother graduate from Rockhurst. I listened to the commencement speech that one of the seniors had made up, and I knew that at this point I wanted to graduate from Rockhurst like my brother. Hearing all the different
Everyone was so happy that we won the championship because my team has not won in 10 years it seems like forever. The crowd was cheering so much for us. I was so happy that I have tried my best all the time and that it is ok to make mistakes. We make them all of the time even if we do not notice
Durant scored a team-high 28 points and an assist short for another double-double game performance. He also had seven rebounds and two blocked shot while Westbrook finished with 24 points, five assists, five boards and three steals.
Whenever the Thunder play I mainly watch Russell Westbrook. He sticks out because he wears two padded white arm sleeves. He also sticks out because he is mainly above the rim during the game. Westbrook will usually use his aggressive attitude to get an and- one on a dunk. Russell will usually get a triple-double.
For the sixth straight year, the Clippers -- with Chris Paul, Blake Griffin (albeit not present after yet another weird injury), and DeAndre Jordan -- have been bounced before the West Finals. For the third time in five years and the second straight year under head coach and President of Basketball Operations Doc Rivers, the Clippers have been bounced in the first round.
On Monday night, the upstart Oklahoma City Thunder went into Oracle Arena and knocked off the Golden State Warriors 108-102 in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals. The Thunder were able to win on Monday night, thanks to a 19-point third quarter performance from point guard Russell Westbrook. Westbrook 's play in the third quarter was the key to Oklahoma City 's comeback as they were down 13 points at the half.
