Recently, closed closed campus at Hatch valley high school has been a topic of discussion by the school board. I think closed campus is a good idea and it is very needed at Hatch valley high school. The school food is very healthy and good for us a lot of students enjoy the food they are given and not one single student has complained. Students want to relax and interact with their friends on campus during their lunch hour. I believe staying on campus is safer for the students and also for the town.
The food at HVHS is healthy, many students tend to like it and approve of the cafeteria lunches and breakfast. The cafeteria has a variety of foods we can choose from and also including a salad bar which we can serve ourselves to as much as we want. The food at the school is free of charge, many students like to go out and buy food from stores which probably isn’t as healthy as they think. I usually tend to go out a lot just to go buy a bag of chips and a soda which isn’t enough for me to fill up to get me through the day. But ever since I started eating the school food it has filled me up and gets me through the day

Staying on campus is way better than leaving because we won’t be late to class if we’re on campus. I know for sure teachers would be glad that their students are always on time and actually show up to class ready to learn. If the students stay on campus their wouldn’t be any tardies and nobody will have lunch detention which teachers will enjoy having a free lunch without any students because not just the students need relaxation so do the teachers. I am pretty sure there are students who are falling behind and should take the opportunity to catch up on assignments. Some students may not eat during their lunch so then they can use their time wisely and catch up on work or also work on not failing a
Students at Hatch Valley High School need time away from teacher time to relax just like the teachers get a break from the students and to make us stay on campus that means that teachers have to give up there lunch to watch us.If they have to give up that time they and they won’t be happy because that's there time alone and they deal with us all day.so thats a reason that closed campus is a con.
Schools that do allow open campus lunches have happy students, many students love the idea of getting what they would want to eat and where. Schools should allow open campus lunches for lunch. It would have more choices for lunch, Many students would love not eating school lunches, It would offer an opportunity to run home and eat and get something that you forgot for a class.
HELP! I'm dying!... because school lunches are cringing! Students should be allowed to leave class during lunch hours, and be trusted to leave and return back in time for their next class. If high schools gave students this right it would teach them how to manage their time wisely and it would help them become responsible. Students who leave campus during lunch are most likely end up going to a local business to get their lunch which is both good for the students and the local businesses. Students with special food allergies could leave campus during lunch and go to their homes and get food they could actually eat and not be worried that their food could have been cross contaminated to something they're allergic to. Students who leave campus during lunch would come back energized and ready for their next classes.
Students could leave campus, get food, and be back for time given from the school. If students could leave campus to get either a restaurant, get food at home or a fast food restaurant the food would be so much better than the schools food. Students could go to a small restaurant tor a diner. Students could go home and make their selves food. They could go to fast foods restaurants around the area such as McDonald’s, Hardee’s, or Subway. As long as students are back within the amount of time given students should be able to leave campus to get food. School lunches are not healthy for students most of the time. You do not know what the food they are serving you is half the time. If students were allowed to leave school for lunch it would give them a little bit of freedom for an hour. If they could leave campus for lunch it gives them a chance to have a break from their classes. Many students tend to fall asleep in class, if they could have an hour lunch break they could go home eat and rest for a little while. Students may feel trapped staying in one place for 8 hours. Many students also get bored sitting in classes for so long leaving for lunch give them the chance to move around and get out of
People may say that we don’t need an open campus that it will cause nothing but problems from kid not coming back afterwards to kids doing illegal things during the time off, and that there would be liability issues. If parents didn’t want there child to leave. These issues can be addressed.
Finally, the staff members of Oak Creek High could have more time available to get done with their work. Teachers need the extra time to get organized and prepared for the next class they teach. They could go home and eat or go out to eat. Plus, they would have extra time to eat at their own pace. Everyone knows that the administrators have enough problems to deal with, so by having an open campus lunch their will be less students they have to watch over in the cafeteria during lunch hours. Just like the teachers, the administrators would also have more time to get more things done and eat their lunch.
Because the United States Constitution states that all citizens have the right to bear arms, and the government has control over all public space, a college student has the right to carry a concealed weapon with a license in Texas. However, the threat of shooters to become anyone with a gun and the risk of students going berserk make the Campus Carry law seem useless and meaningless. Therefore, the Texas state Government should rethink and abolish a law that has too many risks and not so much of a reward.
The topic of an open campus is a very touchy subject and alsi a very important matter, The fact that students are able to leave the school campus for their lunch hour is a privilege.
Open campus high school helps improve student behavior. However, “Research shows that teen drug use and other dangerous behavior is highest between 3:00 and 6:00 p.m. - the unsupervised hours between the end of the school day and the time parents get home from work” (Merino 89). The mistakes or little flaws of a few students should not affect the students who did not do anything wrong (Saslow). At Frankfort High School, some city school leaders hope that reviving open campus will better connect students with their community (Schanding). Open campus is not a matter of closing or opening the campus. Honestly, open campus is about trying to help students manage time right, which could also improve the behavior of those students. Open campus limited to ninth graders at Great Neck North, because it is located near a town square with numerous different stores. Its “campus is open for Grades ten through twelve.
Off campus lunch should be allowed at Hebron High School in order to have a more spacious environment for the students , more time to do things and giving them more freedom.
I plan to attend a two year community college first at Palo Alto College and then transfer to a university to get my bachelor's degree then go to a veterinary medical school. I have to mainly study chemistry, biology, zoology, physiology, microbiology and anatomy. My star educator would have to be Mrs. Trout my Spanish teacher because she gets on me to do my work and would pinch me if I ever dared to sleep in her class, and not do the assignment. She gives me advice about what I should do if I wanted to transfer out of state to a university, and I thank her for not letting me slack in class or else I will be failing. I would also like to thank my mom for also not letting me slack in school and push me to get A's and B's she would be so proud
Wandering kids. Bumper to bumper traffic. Drug dealing. Is this the picture drawn when local students have fifty minutes of freedom during lunch to do whatever they please? Students should not be allowed to leave their school campus during lunch. An open campus would lead to truancy, disturb local businesses and neighborhoods, and cause crime.
Obesity can often be the consequence of living in a household that instill unhealthy eating habits. Schools can be a positive influence on teens early in life so that obese teens can lead into their adult lives with healthier habits. With these healthier habits, they may likely have more energy to become positive influences in others lives to be healthy and be able to do more. If schools can make such an impact on students’ lives, they should try, even if they needed to sacrifice extra money or instructional time. In 2007, there was a study that only one fifth of high school students had eaten fruits and vegetables at least five times a day in a week (Wexler, 2010). While it is unreasonable to force someone to eat these foods, if they are regularly offered as part of school lunches, students may eat them if they have finished the rest of their lunch and are hungry. Schools should be encouraged to even add fruits and vegetables to vending machines for healthier options.
First of all, students aren’t motivated to eat unhealthy, not-tasty food. If you observed students buying lunch in the cafeteria, you don’t often see them buying these kinds, but not limited to, foodstuffs: burritos (which are just beans wrapped in tortillas), “burgers” (meat slapped on two
Junk food, junk food, junk food is around all corners of schools. Chocolate, cookies, soda, potato chips, and Sour Strings may sound delectable to some people, but are they nutritious? Some people wonder if there should be a change. Encouraging exceptional nutrition in schools is essential by reasons of students will consume foods that are better for them, schools will pay less for meals, and fewer students would go hungry.
