Abstract – The idea of cloud computing was first introduced in the sixties. Today, cloud computing is widely used in everyday life. There are many advantages to cloud computing but with everything in life there are always disadvantages. This research will focus on how the dependability of cloud computing holds up with all the new evolving changes and updates to the cloud computing service. Introduction With the growing of technology and people around the world using the internet more often, the cloud is becoming more popular than ever before. The United States National Institute of Standards and Technology has defined cloud computing as follows: "Cloud computing is a model for enabling convenient, on-demand network access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources (e.g., networks, servers, storage, applications, and services) that can be rapidly provisioned and released with minimal management effort or service provider interaction [1]." There are many uses of the cloud but the main uses people use the cloud for is to host websites, store documents, and to stream TV shows and movies. With all this new flooding of the cloud computing network, the dependability of cloud computing systems have come into question for all cloud service providers, consumers, and brokers around the world. Fig. 1 is just one example of the growth of cloud computing of a single company. Fig. 1
