How human activity can affect the environment and human health. There are loads of different ways that we as humans affect the world and the environment we live in. Some things that we do can not only change and affect the environment but can also affect our health.
A copious amount of health problems can occur directly and indirectly due to pollution that could chronically impact a person, further
Antidote or not, disease has or will affect each and every individual on this planet. Whether it’s acquired socially, congenitally or environmentally everyone will get their share of experiencing disease. My interest in Environmental Health started within my career as a Respiratory Care Practitioner. With Respiratory Care being such a
Health Law, Regulations, and Policy Paper Michelle Hobbs HCS/545 June 13, 2016 Qiana Amos Health Law, Regulation, and Policy Paper Today’s health care industry is more than just providing medical services to individuals in need; it encompasses various laws, regulations, and policies that direct how care should be provided and what the ramifications of non-compliance will
The customary idea of the environment is human focused, with everything that encompasses (surrounds) us characterized as the environment. Then again, science characterizes the earth as a mind boggling arrangement of living things and natural processes and the human species only one player in this web- albeit with significant impacts to the environment (Maxwell, 2014). Environmental health encompasses chemical, biological, and physical hazards and thus is not limited to industrial pollution as many often associate environmental health with.
I chose this topic because I believe it is related to my major. I also would be interested in learning more about it. I am a nursing major so I have an affinity for health topics. I chose this topic because I believe it will add to the background knowledge needed to understand why it is important to be involved in environmental causes.
What is the environmental focus of this decade? How will the increased costs of energy, waste management, and pollution affect your ability to succeed in your career?
Adequate food sources, clean drinking water, poor air quality, and disease are just a few of the problems that challenge us today. Although finding a solution before our own demise is essential, it is irrelevant unless we employ a universal lifestyle that will ensure the respect of the world in which we live. In order to be successful in this endeavor, we must be creative and utilize our interdisciplinary toolsets. By exercising our interdisciplinary toolsets, we are able to see and understand even the most abstract ideas and to cultivate solutions for their eradication.
New agriculture practices worldwide, industrialization, and an increase in consumption of energy have all made the world a presumably positive impact on the way people live. However, society as a whole is not doing the best job at recognizing how our modernized world is impacting the environment. Unfortunately, health impacts are not typically marketed, so people
What I find interesting is the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, and the natural way it gets consumed. Carbon dioxide shouldn’t be looked at as a bad thing, we need some of it for plants and other life, but too much of anything is bad. I thought the pattern of CO2 was interesting because it matched the seasons. During the fall when plants die the CO2 increases, and when they come back to life the CO2 decrease. It looks like this is a natural process of how the earths controls the CO2. The problem is that the plants can only handle so much CO2 and when humans produce it 24 hours a day, the earth can’t catch up and do its job.
In the field of public health, when looking to devise new interventions it’s vital to examine not only past and current intervention efforts but also their failures and successes. Notably, the ideas, observations, shortcomings or failures of past interventions serve as the blueprint for enhancements and error avoidance in both current and future efforts. Subsequently, failure to learn from past interventions provers counterproductive to all efforts aimed at achieving future successes; hence the significance of the adages, we learn from our mistakes and when we know better, we do better. Therefore, it’s equally important to apply this same logic when looking to advance old methods or develop new environmental health interventions.
The environmental issue for my Milestone project is Air pollution. Air pollution is the introduction of particulates, biological molecules, and many harmful substances into Earth 's atmosphere, causing diseases, allergies, and death to humans, damage of other living organisms like animals and crops, or the natural environment (National Geographic, 2016). Georgia air pollution has been a focus for many years. Environmental protection Agency and Clean air act has been one of the main contributors to controlling environmental air pollution from increasing. The research is on scholars, chemicals and gases connected to air pollution and health hazards. Solution for Georgia is conserving, alternative energy and renewable resources.
B. Creating a healthy environment is important for all people since we spent our entire lives interacting with the world around us. According to Healthy People 2020, “poor environmental quality has its greatest impact on people whose health status is already at risk” (2010). This includes people who already have a sickness, disability, or disease that lowers their immune system, which allows environmental hazards to penetrate and make the individual even sicker. In order to prevent more
To a great degree the eminent problem is the air pollution we breathe. Who can help amend the air we breathe. In order to improve the quality of the air, people have to be aware of the specific mode of pollution and the effect of it. The traffic-pollution causes affliction
I think that the problem is that CO2 pollution because it is the highest it has been for hundreds of years. This world is going to be inherited by us so we need to keep it clean. Also the air is becoming more and more toxic as we reach higher
