Snakes are fun to know about. They are scary, poisonous createars that killed many people. And cobras are one of the most famous snakes (Cleopatra used an Egyptian cobra to kill herself). So, I choose cobras to make a research on.
Cobras
Cobras are venomous snakes of family Elapidae, of several genera. They generally inhabit tropical and desert regions of Asia and Africa. Cobras kill their prey, usually small rodents and birds, by injecting a neurotoxin through their hollow fangs. The King Cobra notably eats other snakes; it feeds almost entirely on other snakes, even venomous ones (ophiophagy). The spitting cobra can also incapacitate larger would-be predators by delivering irritating venom to their eyes. Cobras come in varying colors

However, there was a clear difference in the traces left by the two species: whereas the black-necked cobra sprayed its venom, the attack by the red Mozambique cobra is reminiscent of something shot from a double-barrelled water pistol.
What is decisive for the high degree of accuracy is a pattern of behaviour which researchers were able to observe in both species. "In super slow motion it is clearly visible that the snakes move their heads rapidly when squirting the toxin," Dr. Westhoff explains. "Rather like we do when we wish to use a garden hosepipe to water the flowers of an entire flowerbed." In this way the venom is spread out over a larger area; the chance that it will hit one eye increases.
However, Dr. Westhoff would like to scotch one prejudice: "Cobras only spit when they feel threatened, not to kill their prey," he says; "anything else is a myth." They kill their prey like other poisonous snakes do, by biting them and thereby injecting the venom into their bloodstream, which then proves fatal. Human beings are not on their list of potential prey; even so, these snakes are dangerous even when they are
which venomous snake is best known? Yep, you guessed it, the King Cobra (or as scientists call it Ophiophagus Hannah or snake-eater!!). Did you know that King Cobra are the only snake to lay eggs that they guard with all their life . They can also raise ⅓ of there body off the ground. They raise their body of the ground to make themselves look bigger to scare off enemies. The also hold a world record for longest tongue and they are not the most venomous snake in the world? They just eject the most venom into their prey.
Their venom is a potent Hemotoxin, the venom kills red blood cells and impales muscle tissue. The venom is highly potent and lethal to humans, but antivenin is ubiquitous and deaths are very uncommon. The snake is easily recognizable by its large head and bulky body The ground color of its body is olive brown and has large diamonds with brown centers and cream borders. The tail is brownish grey (banded with dark rings). Newborns have a button at the end of their tail, and adults and juveniles have a rattle. Young and old have a cat eye with a vertical pupil. While baby snakes are 15 inches long, they can grow up to eight feet because of its complementing 20 year livelihood The Diamondback Rattler can also strike 2/3 of its body length so a six foot snake can strike four
“Although they have no venom, they have other, quite effective means of killing their prey.” (Burmese Python: Not the ideal pet) This quote states the snake had no venom, but still has unique ways of killing their prey.
There are many different species of snakes that inhabit Arizona, but the Sonoran Coral Snake, the Sonoran Mountain Kingsnake, the Milk Snake, and the Sonoran Shovel-Nosed Snake are particularly interesting because despite being different species they all look like one another. The red, black, and yellow stripes they share can be attributed to evolution and environment. The four species of snakes have different diets, habitats, and distribution, but they do share one environmental element: primary predators. All four snakes have raptors, long tailed weasels, and badgers as predators. These snakes have evolved to have stripes because raptors, long tailed weasels, and badgers are less likely to eat snakes with red, black, and yellow stripes
The Burmese python is a very powerful and extraordinary animal. This huge reptile is among the largest snakes in the world. This gigantic snake is capable of growing to twenty-three feet and a weight of two hundred pounds. These exotic animals are carnivores and usually, survive eating smaller mammals. This is no ordinary snake, it has no venom but has other deadly features. They have back-curving teeth that help clench their prey and the more the animal struggles, the tighter it gets. The Burmese python wraps itself around its food and squeezes until it is dead. This snake swallows its dinner whole. Somehow, people have thought this was a better pet than the family dog and went out to find one. Soon after that, they must have learned otherwise.
Fatal snake attacks in Australia have risen from 2 to 5 deaths in 2013. The controversy with this is however is that these

Once the snakes are caught, they go through a few different processes. First, they have their venom removed from
The original nickname for the death adder was the “deaf adder”, because it was thought they could not hear.
When looking at their physical appearance, they are slim and scaly and sometimes rough. In addition to being the second most venomous snake, rattlesnakes are infamous for being quick, silent killers that only make noise to intimidate. “…the rattlesnake which known as the 'rattler is a symbol of potency and fertility…the rattle is a symbol of death and transformation since its venom can turn one nearing death to life” (Hallberg). Although they are patient and typically coiled into tight loops, the consequences of pushing these reptiles too far to the edge can be quick and fatal. When analyzing Delia Jones' character, many of the traits depicted in snakes are evident in her as

They can get set to strike, strike and back to its strike position in less than .15 seconds. The venom per bite can be as little as seventy milligrams and as high as 236 milligrams. They hide in wait, when they hear humans coming, to strike; this increases their risk of being stepped on, but they are much more dangerous to strike.
Before answering the guiding question evidence needed to be collected. We confirmed that all the snakes are not from the same species, which means that their similarities don't have to do with heredity. We also confirmed that their predators, the Ferruginous hawk, cooper's hawk, and red-tailed hawk are in fact the same, and surprisingly compared to other snakes
You may be asking well they eat many different kinds of small mammals and reptiles. They will eat other snakes too. They'll eat venomous and nonvenomous snakes of all shapes and sizes they might even go after a snake a bit bigger than themselves. If they win a fight to another snake they might swallow it whole. The King cobra is an unusual animal because it shares it's sleeping area with it's prey. It will also eat Reptiles and amphibians
To begin with, the Burmese python can grow to a length of 19 feet long and the width can be the thickness of a telephone pole. Just envision something like that roaming around your neighborhood. This specific python was brought over from Southeast Asia. Unlike other snakes the Burmese python is not venomous. Instead it has rows of sharp teeth to kill its prey. The deadly python’s jaws are not hinged which allows them to swallow things larger than their own head. In paragraph 2 blog 1 they said “Chemical receptors in their tongues and heat censors along the jaws compensate for their poor eyesight and allows them to hunt in the dark” So they hunt
