WWII was a global war that lasted from 1939 to 1945 , it was the most widespread war and affected over 100 million people , with events like the holocaust killing millions. During the wars , american soldiers would communicate through code. The problem with the code was that it was easily deciphered by enemies. A man who soon would change the way war communication worked , named Philip Johnston pitched the idea , and would later spend two weeks in Los Angeles looking for bilingual Navajo speakers , while Marine recruiters encouraged many navajo men to join.
