Collaboration involves negotiation and consensus seeking (Blais & Hayes, 2016). As the assistant director of nursing, I am a member of the Quality Improvement committee. Our purpose is to meet on a monthly basis to review feedbacks from patients regarding their home health aides. We need to know if the patient needs are being met, if they are being treated with respect and what improvements can be made to keep quality aides in order to ensure quality care of patients. Providing good care for home health patients with chronic conditions needs to be organized and coordinated (Barr & Ross, 2007).

The two words most often used, ”cooperative and collaboration,” can easily be both applicable to the United States of America and other countries today, and are still often used to describe contract negotiations for the United States of America as well as other countries. (Barnardin & Russell, 2013).
Fundamentally, it is vitally important to maintain professional boundaries between other staff members and individuals in your care, taking care to maintain a strong sense of mural respect and understanding of the beliefs of others, regardless of your opinion of them.
This is the way nurses come together with healthcare consumer, family, and others in the conduct of nursing practices. Collaboration is professional healthcare partnership grounded in a reciprocal and respectful recognition and acceptance of: each partner’s unique expertise, power, and sphere of influence and responsibilities; the commonality of goals; the mutual safeguarding of the legitimate interest of each party; and the advantages of such a relationship. (Spring, 2010). Nursing students should be ready to collaborate with their patients and their families at times in every situation in order to come out with a positive outcome while helping the patients. This is attained by sharing the knowledge we have learned in class combined with what the patient says (subjectives) orthe situation you are. When nurses collaborate together and understand one another it will be easier for them to take care of the patients and they will manage to offer a high quality care possible.
Collaboration is a process in which a nurse practitioner has a relationship with one or more physicians to deliver health care services. Such collaboration is to be evidenced by nurse practitioners documenting the nurse practitioners’ scope of practice and indicating the relationships that they have with physicians to deal with issues outside their scope of practice. Nurse practitioners must document this collaborative process with physicians. The collaborating physician does not need to be present with the nurse practitioner when the services are furnished or to make an independent evaluation of each patient who is seen by the nurse practitioner.
I interact with the mobile dental van. This van goes within the community to help the underserved population that lack access to care for various reasons. As far as the Dobbs Ferry Campus van come to campus and serve a huge population of children, who otherwise may not receive the appropriate care that is needed. They are referred out to specialties if needed. They provide care to the limited secured detention’s youth who are locked down and is not allow to roam free on campus. They provide care to the foster children that are followed by the clinic in the Bronx. It is a way to meet and provide care for the target population within their community. I also deal with the Family Assistance Program that houses

Interprofessional communication and collaboration are a significant part of ensuring safe and effective patient outcomes. In the case detailed below the health care team failed to communicate and collaborate care of patient A, ultimately leading to a negative outcome.
The American Nurses Association is leading the way by implementing countless initiatives to bring attention to the nurses’ essential role in care coordination. It is up to the nurse to step up and draw attention to the integral part they play in improving patient satisfaction, patient care quality, and the effective and efficient use of health care resources (American Nurses Association, 2012).
In order to collaborate successfully with the other members of the team, they have to ‘work together’. Collaboration implies “working together to achieve something that neither agency could achieve alone” (cited by Biggs in Day, 2006, p9). It involves effective communication and contribution to a common goal – and the health and wellbeing of the patient and shared responsibility of the outcome. Each team requires a quality leader, regular meetings attended by all members, joint assessment, regular reviews of patient records which should include ‘shared care plans’; joint decisions following consultation and task delegation to individual team members with the outcome being that “care must be structured, organised and systematically provided to each person in a variety of ways” (Creating an Interprofessional Workforce, 2007, p10).

Within the military field setting, there is a vast amount of job roles involved. There are administrators, physicians, engineers, electricians, repair technicians of all sorts, storekeeper personnel, and sometimes contractors. Without any or each of these, a piece would be missing and the military chain would not run well. In my workplace there are many advantages to having a multicultural collaborative workforce. Some of these advantages include higher morale and broader viewpoint , plus a better possibility of smooth transition during expansion. In implementing this model in my school, I would use it to focus my attention on collaboration. I would develop a community where teachers talk, observe, and plan together. Teachers will be encouraged to develop improvement plans and use positive feedback. The staff is a key component to these models being effective. Teachers needs should be recognized and their ideas generally accepted. Staff must be supported and well trained. Finding ways to connect with one another within the school culture is essential as is enhancing staff participation by encouraging collaboration. Through my actions I will model this. I will be out in the halls and in the classrooms, connecting with the staff as well as the students. It will be important to make
Collaboration is a substantive idea repeatedly discussed in health care circles. The benefits are well validated. The focus on benefits of collaboration could lead one to think that collaboration is a favorite approach to providing patient care, leading organizations, educating future health professionals, and conducting health care research.
Throughout our collaboration, it was hard to often see the impact that we were having on the community. A lot of other groups were actively engaged, while we were sitting behind a computer screen, creating specialized planning charts to plan out and prep for the future semesters. As important as we knew that this was, it was often hard to accept this and feel as if we were doing something that was important. Every time when we would have a meeting, I would feel as if I was two steps behind, even when I had prepared more than I felt necessary. I soon discovered that this was because in order to collaborate you need to spend a great amount of time engaging with others (even if over email) in order to be prepared. You may not have always thought about every possible aspect and including different perspectives allows you to then view a situation from multiple perspectives instead of just your own. I feel that this experience (of doing a lot online investigating and planning) was very important to the collaboration process because there is a lot of thought that needs to go into this portion of the project. We also had to take into account what other factors that our community advisor thought that we needed to include as a part of our project. Sometimes it was difficult to understand if my community advisor was happy with the work that we were doing.
