Choosing My Career Path
In life, there are many decisions that people come across, from what to eat for lunch everyday, to where to start a career at. Many young people in high school do not often think about what they want to do after high school until they are a senior. For me, I knew what I have wanted to do ever since I was in middle school. High school has been an amazing experience for me, and has helped me make strong decisions, but I have been ready to move on since the first day of senior year. I am very family-oriented and do not like to be far away from home for a long period of time, so a close college is best. Another strong difference is that because BG is a bit bigger than ONU, BG offers more majors and career opportunities. ONU is a private school with a total of 48 majors and five different colleges (“Colleges and Schools”). They offer: College of Business, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Engineering, College of Law, and College of Pharmacy (“Colleges and Schools”). A pro of ONU is that they do have the major I would like to achieve, nursing. It is a four- year degree which can be achieved in that amount of time if all of the classes are passed and the student attends every semester. Once you apply to the school and are accepted, you are automatically accepted to the college of Nursing program. At BGSU, there are more than 200 undergraduate programs as well as associate degrees at one of its community schools, BGSU Firelands (“BGSU at a Glance”). Bowling Green has a College of nursing program which is joined together with the University of Toledo Medical Hospital where all of the clinicals will be done (“Nursing”). The only con with this nursing program is that after the two years of classes, you are chosen to be admitted to the upper division nursing program your junior year based on
