As a senior, I pride myself in knowing that I will be the first in my family to graduate high school and have the opportunity of pursuing my dreams. As I look into the future, it is easy to see why many would think that my dream career is unobtainable. When I tell others what I want to do, I always get the same reaction of shock. Countless times throughout my life I've been told that I cannot do it; I've been told that there is no way that a kid born with illegal parents who have no real education can ever achieve what I want to do. I dream of becoming a surgeon and helping save the lives of others. I want to prove once and for all that someone like me, even from the circumstances that surround me, can make something great with their lives

Goals, goals, goals they're what people think about and how they are going to achieve them in the future. My three goal in life are to get in the college of my choice, go skydiving and to get a well paying job. These three goals are important to me because they are what I am likely to achieve within the next ten years. As I grow and blossom into someone big, someone bigger than who I am today I don’t mean just physically but bigger intellectually, and more capable. These goals show me that if I want to achieve them, then I have to work hard to accomplish them.
To me, the notions that my grandfather was once as young as me and that I will one day be as old as him are equally preposterous and improbable. But, you know what’s perfectly plausible and, sometimes, desirable? An alien civilization living some billion light years away with mosquitos-to-ice-cream conversion machine available for rent to inter-galactic neighbors.

For as long as I can remember I have dreamed of being the first person in my family to go to college and receiving a degree. The older I got the more I realized it wasn’t just as simple as going to any college I wanted, there are many factors that come into play when making such a major decision. The biggest issue for me was the financial aspect, hearing horror stories of people leaving school with mountains of debt didn’t sound appealing to me and I knew I didn’t want that, so I set out to figure a way to get an education without being buried in debt.

As a result, if I could have any dream job, I would be a surgeon for a number of reasons.
The question of what would you like to be in life wasn’t the topic of discussion in the environment I grew up in. Don’t get me wrong grades and education were important, college and long-term goals were never a factor. What I wanted to be when I grew up wasn’t put into much prospective. In elementary I was for sure becoming a teacher, getting married, and having a family was what I wanted out of life a plan on making those things happen I had no idea. As I got older I thought shouldn’t your career be something that you’re passionate about, teaching wasn’t it.
