The motto of my high school, which we are supposed to write on every piece of graded work, is “Always My Best”. While this motto is much maligned by the students and even some of the faculty for being vague and simple, I have come to realize over the years that it captures the spirit of my core beliefs due to its vague nature. To me Always My Best means that one is able to give their all in a pursuit, with a constant desire for excellence and knowledge, while also keeping their dignity.
One thing that matters to me more than I believe it does to my peers is the importance of keeping one’s integrity. It doesn’t make sense to me when someone lies, steels or cheats. To me those actions are base violations of a person’s character and spirit. Whenever I make a commitment, I feel honor bound to carry put that commitment to the best of my ability, and often feel intense guilt when I accidentally make a mistake and realize that I have over promised, sometimes leading to long nights completing a group project by myself, or late night trips to the store to grab food for a teacher luncheon the next day. When others do not make the same efforts to ensure that their promises, whether

Knowledge truly is power, and for me ignorance is rarely bliss. I have always been inquisitive, pouring over any information given to me. Knowledge is the one thing that can never be taken away from a person, and thus its value cannot be measured. Researching the past or exploring the ideas of those making the future may seem mundane to some but to me, learning about virtually anything is not only a valuable experience, but also something I usually enjoy. With increased knowledge one can only increase their potential and become an even better version of themselves, and in my quest to be my best, knowledge is perhaps the most important
How is KNOWLEDGE power? or how do we benefit from ideas and learning different points of view? Knowledge is power, awareness, understanding of how things or someone works. Knowledge is facts of what we believe or think, is the skill we learn and knowledge is the acknowledge of humankind. Without knowledge we would still be stuck in the 100 century and most of us wouldn’t live for as long as we get to live today or even live to see people on a screen for hours. Anyway knowledge benefit us in many different ways.
Knowledge is something that we know that you have facts to back up to form your argument and is justified. Knowledge isn’t something that can be created overnight but something that we form over the course of life. I feel that being raised by my grandmother I gained a lot of knowledge and wisdom because she has years and experience over me and wouldn’t tell me anything to hurt me but to help me in life. We all learn from mistakes but with mistakes gain wisdom then knowledge. We don’t gain knowledge overnight but with growth we become more aware of our worldview.
What is knowledge?Knowledge is tye gaining of thought, memories, ideas.Knowledge can bring many good qualities ,which are somewhat beneficial ,but what happens when we lust for Knowledge. That is when it becomes a problem because you might create or make sonething you might regret,it can destroy any ethnic or moral value, and it make you look like a crazy person. These qualities lead you and/or other people to death.
Knowledge makes our world go round. Knowledge is what makes us move further and revolve into something more. In the book “Fahrenheit 451” it states “they say you retain your knowledge even when you’re sleeping, if someone whispers in your ear”(Bradbury,89). Knowledge can never be taken from you. Even when you’re asleep your mind runs.
Integrity plays a big role in my academic life. Integrity builds trust between teachers and students. Good student-teacher relationships are developed from trust
Ever since 8th grade, I have worked hard a lot more when I play volleyball. Right when the varsity coaches asked me to join their practice, I knew that I had to work hard and that it will pay off. Now, at every practice, I would play my heart out even if I was playing with a fractured finger or a rolled ankle.
Knowledge is a great motivation and can help in numerous ways to advance society. The benefit of one is amazing, but if all citizens felt an urge to really learn, just imagine what the world could be. Knowing you have a correct answer makes you feel
Ever since I was little girl I have always believed that you only get what you work for, and fairness and equality play a big role in integrity. I’d always believed in doing the right thing even if it doesn’t benefit me in the end. Sometimes it’s hard to show integrity. In fact ,95% of 24,000 high school students have admitted in some form of cheating. I’d always hoped that maybe one day these numbers would decrease.
I believe knowledge is power because it helps we as a person, be reminded of past events so that when events like what happened before happens again we do not repeat it. When the history is recorded in the knowledge of past times, math is also and so is science all recorded in knowledge that remind us of events that happened at one time. When knowledge is here in this world to correct mistakes and remind us of how to do something like how to properly conduct wars and the armies successful and failing tactics. I doubt those who think that knowledge is nowhere near considerably close to power is completely mistaken for the fact that without knowledge we would be no where in close to the society we currently have. Also how would one determine
There is something powerful about knowledge. Knowledge makes one know things that they did not know before. It helps them gain insight about issues that are seen in the world. It opens up eyes to see things through a different perspective, a perspective that they never thought of or seen without getting a gaining an understanding of that certain type of knowledge. Knowledge helps one make decisions and how to handle certain situations. Knowledge allows one to succeed in school and get acceptable grades, discern what is right and wrong, and leads to wisdom. When knowledge is limited; children and society are being naïve and lazy, people are not able to express the freedom of speech that is possible in this nation, and it ruins countries.
Knowledge is a powerful tool, one which will unlock many doors for us as individuals and as the whole of the human race, but we must always remember the consequences of gaining knowledge. It is both our blessing and our curse, and we must never forget that knowledge is a power, what we do with that power will determine our fate and
Do you think Knowledge is power? When you have knowledge you have experience. Knowledge gives you understanding and it will help you in the near future. Now you are thinking about it, knowledge can be a result of having challenges, and making hard decisions. For Instances, Mr.Faber, he was a retired English teacher who had knowledge, understanding and experience and Montag needed his help. Montag went and asked Mr.Faber for help he knew what he was getting himself into and said No to Montag, nevertheless Montag started to tear the Bible right in front of Mr.Faber. Although Mr.Faber didn’t want to he said yes to Montag. Such as this example there will be challenges and you will have to decide even if it is the hardest decision in your life.
As people, we all want to be understood by others. “When dealing with others, seek first to understand, then to be understood.” (Maxwell, 37) Finally, while trying to keep others’ needs in perspective, we do not want to be taken advantage of. When this happens it devalues you and the person you took advantage of. All of these will help give an individual the basic outlines of how to begin to look at “The Golden Rule.” To begin this process of adapting this “Golden Rule” lifestyle, the character of a person is the key to living a life of integrity and ethical excellence. A person’s character is more than just talk. People, who want to earn the respect of their peers and themselves, need to walk the talk. There are many things people do not get to choose, how tall they are or where they are born, but character is a choice that can be made by anyone. “Trust is essential when working with people. Character engenders trust.” (Maxwell 44) People tend to fall into three categories: those who don’t succeed, those who succeed temporarily, and those who remain successful. To have a quality character will help to remain successful throughout their lifetime. In the world today, we see examples in the media of people who do not act as ethically as they should. There are many reasons why people do not do the right thing. These reasons generally fall into five factors that someone compromises their ethics for. To begin with pressure is a major culprit. In our
francis bacon, A pioneer for the enlightenment era, stated knowledge is power. I believe the statement is as relevant in modern time as it was in the 18th century. Pursuing a K-12 education revealed the Finity of knowledge to comprehend are physical world, break biases, and realize the more we know scholarship
Knowledge, in itself, is nothing. It can even be a burden we are gathering tirelessly and than we carry it through a lifetime, climbing obstacles, overcoming challenges, our knowledge barely helping, and sometimes pulling us back instead.
