I take my college career seriously I read my material try to study as much as I can, even though sometimes I may not have as much time as I wish. I have tried to stay focus on my goal by working hard and building study time and finding the exact classes I needed to take to get my AA and transfer to Cal-State. Up to this point I have done pretty good, I am having a very hard time understanding statics but I have decided to continue to study as much as can and continue to do my best and if so happens to be that I have to take the class again then I will, but I will pass it. This is now one of my biggest challenges in school, at least up to now, but this is what I need to move forward in my college career. Believing in me, I would think is my
After high school, students in the United States have various career choices to choose from. College is a place composed of numerous facets and activities, which offer a variety of avenues for the career-minded to explore, while offering growth and opportunities for advancement. A fine career choice for students to pursue in college in is marketing: planning, directing, and the coordination of marketing policies and programs.
Twenty-six years ago. I began the quest to find the perfect college. As I drove down the driveway of Bay Path College, I knew this was the college I was going to attend. I was drawn to the rural setting, the beautiful campus and the small academic community. My intent for life after high school was to get my associates degree, earn some money, then begin working toward my bachelor degree. In retrospect, I did not possess the confidence or drive needed to be a good student. I struggled for the next couple of years to earn my Associates degree, however was apprehensive to commit to the time or expense it would take to continue my education. After a very long break in schooling, I now approach education with a new mindset and ready to commit
I learned from my various courses that you cannot get discouraged when you know that you have a lot on your plate those are the times to rise above and to focus. Making sure everything was completed in a timely manner and to an above average standard was very important especially in my college courses. When you do not put the amount of effort needed it shows in the final product, I always want my product to look like I did my best no matter what it might be. Coming in from middle school it was easy to skate by and do everything at the last minute and still get perfect scores but now that I am being academically challenged those methods no longer work. I am very grateful for being able to have the opportunity to attend the STEM Early College at NC A&T because it is preparing me for my future
What type of careers would you want during colleges? Whatever it is I’m sure that you have to make a goal to accomplish it. I’d like to graduate with a degree in nursing or dental in the future. My career is already in the making for me. I want to go to college and actually finish without dropping out. Ten years from now I want to be able to say I did it. I should have a complete degree and education to prove that I made it. Working in a well-paid job to support my family. I need to keep a positive attitude to reach that point of finishing college. The attitudes that berry hadn’t been positive nor motivational that’s why he didn’t make it as far until he actually wanted to learn. He learned by motivating himself to read.
What colleges are you trying to get into? Why are you applying to these schools?
Unlike most graduate students, I have faced and overcome several obstacles throughout my college career. As a sophomore in high school, I had my first experience with loss. A very close friend of mine lost her life in a car accident, and approximately one year later my grandfather lost his life to a heart attack. However, these aren’t the only losses I have experienced, the month I turned 18 my parents lost my childhood home, and we were forced to move into a new home. In my first year of college, my mother had kicked me out of that new home, and I was forced to grow up fast.
I returned by a blessing my spring quarter and with my back to the wall I answered myself that I will pass no matter what. I challenged myself and took a look at; for the help I needed. Which I found with Peggy Rose, who set me on a path to success. Which I started taking that quarter with passing all my classes and having a 2.33 GPA. I continued this path in the summer by taking summer courses for I can acquire the remainder of credits I need for the pacing. I know that I’m not finished and will need to not only bring up my GPA, but prepare to declare for my major, and pass writing. There are several tasks that need to be done, I came into UCSC, with how my mom says, “Scratched” mentally and physically. I cannot say to myself oh, I'm not college material. I’m college material that is why this university has accepted me in the first place, they noticed something in my work that seems University of California, Santa Cruz material. I’m here to achieve my dream as a Biology major and to be a pediatrician and nothing will take that away from
It's finally time. The moment I choose what college I will be attending. This is the moment where my life changes and I start my college career. I knew I wanted to go to a community college and eventually transfer to a university after getting my degree. I had a list of options, Macomb Community College, Oakland Community College, and Mott Community College. Mott was the first one to get the boot. Mott doesn't have the exact program I was looking for. The career I am pursuing is a legal assistant or also known as a paralegal. Oakland Community College sounded like the school for me. I am moving to Rochester Hills after high school so the location was ideal. I know people who attend the school so I could get some extra help if needed, and It's not expensive. Once I did some research, I realized that Oakland's paralegal program is at
Based on my Naviance research, college and career readiness for me, aiming towards a future in physical therapy, means that I need excellent people skills, including social perceptiveness and service orientation, and remarkable learning skills, such as critical thinking and the ability to collect research. According to The Council of Chief State School Officers, communication, problem formulation, research, interpretation are the four key aspects to college and career readiness. People skills, which reflect communication and interpretation, are especially important in physical therapy because communicating with patients and evaluating their needs are the fundamental principles of the job. Onetonline.org defines social perceptiveness as being aware of others' reactions and
Question I: Please describe reasons for your choice of college and your career objectives in Fashion, Visual Arts, Interior Design, or Entertainment.
My career goal after graduate school is to work in industry. Currently I wish to gain employment in either the aerospace or the defense industry. In these industries I would like to be employed as either a structural designer or as structural analysis engineer. Long term, I am developing myself to become employed as a senior engineer to help shape and lead the structural design team wherever I am employed. I think working in this field would be a very challenging but highly rewarding experience.
At the beginning of this term I did not know what college or career readiness meant. But now that we are a few weeks into this course I have realized that we need the Learning Skills, Transition Knowledge, Key Cognitive Strategies, and Key Content Knowledge to be successful without careers. It takes effort and determination to keep pushing your way through, but letting one bad grade get you down will set you up for many failures. You need good effort and a good attitude to succeed in life.
My major course of study at the moment is computer science, which I hope to put to use in a career related to computer programming, prioritizing a career in video game development. Computer programming has always interested me as well as video games, so I would like to work in an environment where I can do both. Though, depending on how the rest of my college career goes, I may find interest in another aspect of computer science, so nothing is set in stone. Even if I do go into a career in programming, it does not have to be in the video game industry. If something else along the way catches my interest I am open to a change in my path.
Upon graduating high school, I had no clue what I wanted to do with my life. I didn’t want to be like a lot of my friends and use college as an excuse to party all night and be lazy all day. So I decided to apply for a full time position as a diesel mechanic at Utility Fleet Sales so that I could at least begin earning income. Soon after starting this position, I realized that I wanted more. I decided to attend night classes at Blinn community college while continuing to work full time. I had no idea on what degree I wanted to work towards, but for the first time in my life I began to enjoy school. As I finished my first year at Blinn and second year working as a technician, I was promoted to an inside parts associates. This position introduced me to inventory management, building relationships with customers, cost management and basic accounting. I really enjoyed applying the mechanical knowledge I learned from working as a technician, towards my new position of
