From the beginning of an education in preschool, to the time of graduation 14 years later, everything learned, interpreted, analyzed, understood, or even misunderstood has its effect in the future. The question is always “what do you want to be when you grow up?” As you age, the career dreams develop into a more mature answer. No matter how anyone is raised, there is always someone pushing at least one other person to go to college. Then, that silly career question is turned around on them, “how exactly do you expect me to afford college?” Roughly, about $809.6 billion is spent on college in the United States each year. Debt can make one’s life become a stressful thing. There is a constant worry the debt will continue to grow or dealing with the struggle of having to pay every last penny back plus more. Colleges are finding fewer reasons to lower prices and more reasons to raise prices. The college perspective is understood by many in this matter though. Colleges, as well as any other business, needs to make money also. The affordability of college is the second most important thing about a child’s college education, right below the actual education itself. “… the cost of college will remain unaffordable, tuition will continue to rise, and the 18-year-olds… will ‘get to’ continue paying for college with student loans” (college cost act does not…). Does it really pay off to go to college though? Most can agree, yes, it does pay off to go through college, no matter what price one may pay in actual currency. College is the last step before starting a career. The career one strives for is the reason college is even an option. College helps set up and plan the future. The students attending college or plan on doing so in the future are the future of the United States! These children need to have the ability to reach success. “Investing in our nation’s students means investing in our nation’s future” (College cost act…).Schooling is in a person’s life to educate them
