College can be scary to someone who hasn’t done any research to aid their efforts in getting accepted to their dream college. Prior to discovering College Raptor, I only applied to four schools which were: The University of Cincinnati Blue ash, The University of Cincinnati Main Campus, Miami University Oxford, and Northern Kentucky University, and I planned on stopping there. But after doing research, I eventually come across the website College Raptor. College Raptor was extremely helpful in my search to find colleges that met the requirements that I had set in place. I wanted to attend a college that was about midsize, with a student to faculty ratio no greater than 27:1, and tuition that can be paid off within 10 years at a reasonable monthly
On Sunday May 15, 2016, The Stanford Cardinals suffered a major loss to the Washington Huskies. The Cardinals finish 13-35, but 0-24 in the PAC 12. The seniors had four runs all together but it wasn't enough. The defense was lacking having sophomore Hayley Snyder being pulled from the game. She was pulled because by the second inning, there have been five runs. Snyder was replaced with freshman Caroline Lee. Offensive wise, they were lacking but had no trouble getting on to the bases. The trouble was, no one seemed to get on homebase. The Cardinals catchers, Jessica Palaz led the team, and it was her game with Stanford. In early July, I attended an Open House at ISU for my very first official college visit. As I stepped onto campus, I couldn’t but help to feel like it was my future home. Many aspects of the tour made me draw nearer to choosing this college after finishing my High School career. Illinois State University seems to fit my personality very well, has an amazing program for what I want to study, and is an outstanding campus for my academic strengths and weaknesses.

As a high school senior, I spent all year searching for a compatible college that fits my requirements. I wanted a college that is affordable, so when I graduate I am not stuck with a massive debt. I wanted a campus that is has friendly people and feels like home. Finally, the college must provide me with the right skills to start my career. With those three standards in mind, I narrowed my choices to one perfect college.
A big school or small, public or private, urban or rural; these are just a few of the many difficult deciding factors I faced during my college selection. At the height of my selection process, I had applied to ten schools ranging across all those factors. I was completely unsure of what I wanted to do with my life yet and had no idea what type of school I wanted. My mind wasn’t set enough on the future and I was too worried about getting through high school and working my full-time job. As it got closer to spring, I had to start making some decisions. Ultimately, I narrowed my deciding process to three factors to specifically analyze to make the right decision. Beginning with reputation, followed by student life, and lastly the financial cost to attend.
