Colombia has a large telecommunication network that connects all the urban and rural areas. The country has an estimated 179 mainline, and 141 mobile phones in use for every 1,000 Colombians. For every 1000 Colombians, on average, only 50 Colombians has access to internet. Poverty and lack of housing development play a role in the inability for individuals to have access to the internet. Newspapers are prevalent in most towns and respected for their political opinions. The media, such as news broadcasters, operate utilizing free speech.

The separation of these three highlands create the Magdalena River. The temperature in the Andean range from height. At 1,000 to 2,000 meters, the temperature is 73 degrees Fahrenheit. Above 2,000 meters is 57 degrees Fahrenheit. In the Andean region, rainfall is moderate. The Caribbean Coastal Region, is the northern part of Colombia. This region is comprised of swamps, lowlands, and produces diseases due to its location. Rainfall is consistent and heavy. The temperature in this region is 82 degrees Fahrenheit. The region provides for animals to graze and further opportunities for agriculture. The Eastern Region is isolated, hot, and less populated. This region consists of tropical rain forests from the Amazon River Basin in the southern portion. The northern part of this region consist of plains that are fitted for agriculture. Natural resources such as petroleum are located in the eastern region. The Eastern Region is known for flooding and tourism.
Traveling through the various terrains will be difficult for collectors and sources to schedule meetings. Collectors will face possible roll overs due to the terrain. Collectors and maneuver units communication may be hindered due to the heavy vegetation. Collectors will battle sickness when operating in harsh conditions such as climate change and diseases.
