Colombia, a country at the northern tip of South America. It touches both Atlantic and Pacific oceans. The landscape throughout Colombia consists of rainforests. The Spanish speaking country is very different towards the country I live in, America, however, there are some similarities between the two. I will discuss the social life, cultural, and economic reasons that each country the way they are in their own way. The cultural of Colombia is very unique, with a population of 47,698,524, which is not many people. But, they all come together when big events occur, its one big family. My country shows come similarities towards Colombia and some differences. The population of the U.S. is 326,625,791, which is far more than Colombia. Ethnic groups represented in Colombia and the U.S. are white, blacks, and Ameridian. As for the education, the U.S. the expectancy rate is 17 years and the literacy rate is 97.9%. The Governments between the two are similar. Some economics problems within the U.S. is healthcare, and education. Colombia’s issues are more environmental. However, strengths in the United States is hard work, the culture, and entrepreneurship. Colombia shares 8 holidays with the U.S, for example, Christmas, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, New Year’s, and a couple more. The foods on the other hand show no similarities at all, the U.S. is known for real fatty food, which is we are the most obese country in the world. Colombia does not have some of the foods we do, like S’mores, Chilidogs, Buffalo Wings, or Hamburgers, Colombia is known for cuisine dishes for a party of people with tangy or spicy
To begin with, food is perhaps the first difference that people notice between these countries. For example, Americans eat turkey and mash potato for Thanksgiving dinner while Colombians eat “ajiaco” as a typical dish. Cheeseburger is a traditional lunch for Americans. However, a traditional lunch in Colombia is called “bandeja paisa”. Americans love hot dogs, nothing complements a baseball game better than a hot dogs. In contrast, Colombian enjoys their games with “arepas” which is a mix of flour and cheese. In addition, neither American nor Colombian has a better food than the other; they are simply different.

Accordingly, the leadership of Colombia was more than eager to permit the United States to become closely involved in the development of a Colombian public policy initiative, even if they risked losing other potential supporters and garnering international criticism (Carpenter, 2003). Also, the peoples of Colombia themselves were favoring a movement for change after more than

Any argument relies upon some fundamental agreement about the issue being discussed. However great the divide in opinion may be, there must exist at least some similarity in the participants’ manner of viewing the issue if a solution is ever to be reached. Book One of Plato’s Republic features a disagreement between Socrates and Thrasymachus about the nature of justice. The disaccord between their views of the subject is extremely pronounced, but there are certain underlying agreements which guide the course of the debate. One way to evaluate the validity of the arguments involved is to examine whether the assumptions at the root of the argument are in accord with this common ground. By my reading of the dialogue, Socrates’ reply to the
