There was a hush over the Colorado River Fairgrounds, as every American under the stars in Blythe gazed into the sparkly, lit sky at the annual fireworks show on the Fourth of July.
Hundreds of people stretched out on the open field in lawn chairs and on towels, while others flooded the bleachers, to marvel the colors and images the different pop rockets, comets, timerain and glitter fireworks made. Hosted by the Blythe Volunteer Fire Department another year in a row, patriotic music rung out, as the rockets red glare and blue and white bombs burst in air.

The Buffalo River area is a karst environment with attendant sinkhole and cave formation. Limestone, composed primarily of CaCO3 and dolomite composed primarily of CaMg(CO3)2, are the two soluble rock types in the area that host the karst features. Water in contact with air picks up carbon dioxide some of which transforms to carbonic acid, and this acid then dissolves the carbonate minerals, carrying the ions out in solution (e.g. Trudgill 1985). Limestone and dolomite layers vary in impurities and grain size so that different layers are more or less prone to dissolution, with dolomite generally being less soluble than limestone. To erode these rock formations with very low intergrain porosity and permeability, there has to be exposed surface area and so faults and joints within the rock greatly increase the rate in which the rock will dissolve, and partly control the location of
Last summer me and my family went to valleyfair. We got up really early because we had to drive to shakopee. It was a long drive and i fell asleep in the car. I hate long cars rides because they are always so boring, anyways when we got there we had to go through security and then go and get our tickets and wristbands. When we got in there we went on some rides and got food. All i ate that day was panda express. And i went on the wild thing and steel venom.
In the years after the Civil War, Texas seemed to be the land of opportunity. Northern pioneers, newly freed slaves, some Mexican citizens, and cattle poured into Texas. Business savvy cattlemen acted on the high demand of beef in the United States. They assembled herds of free-ranging wild cattle together in South Texas for drives up the trail to railhead markets in Kansas. The men who worked on the cattle trails imagined themselves as cowboys, but never imagined the hard labor that would follow. They left home as young, naïve, but brave men only to return after one season on the trail toughened and wise.

The words Exposition President David R. Francis could be heard loudly over the noises of the visitors "Open ye gates ,Swing wide ye portals .Enter herein ye sons of men and behold the achievements of your race. In 1904 the Louisiana purchase exposition (Informally known as the St. Louis World's Fair) opened its doors for all to see. The Fair marked the 100th anniversary of the 1803 Louisiana Purchase. "Boom! Pow! Sounds that are immediately followed by Ahh's and cheers. For most of us these sounds are all too familiar at annual 4th of July firework celebrations. However, what would a 4th of July celebration be without the glimmering colors of our nation. People all over our country are able to share in the excitement of fireworks partly due to the effects of one element. The glow of a child’s face from “Glow in the dark” paint is able to work - again- because of the effects of one element. However, the feelings of happiness and pleasure are not constricted to only the red glow of paints and flares. This amazing element is also able to bring pleasure and
In my opinion, what the Minnesota State Fair means to people is tradition. Families go to the state fair every year to have that one last adventure with their kids before school starts up again. Its a place where people know they can find something that everyone in their family will enjoy eating because of all the many options available. Also, parents know that with all the many games, rides, and venues available that everyone will find something they can enjoy as a family for one true last memory until next summer.
As we all know the Colorado river is shared by many farmers who live by it. But for the past sixteen years it's been in a drought and shows no signs of stopping.
They would have flowed through the show, their attention captured by whatever held their interest. No issues besides the heat probably crossed their consciousness. In this aspect the show was organized very well. The agenda was followed throughout the day until the parade that was supposed to start at dusk but really started and hour and a half after sunset. Like in all things, there is room for improvement.
