The Roman Colosseum is a prime example of an important architectural building that has not only withstand the test of time, but also has had a major impact on how we perceive buildings in the modern world. According to britannica, construction on this building started around 70 AD and currently still stands in Rome, Italy. The historic that is held within the Colosseum allows for art historian to study and also criticize it as well. Big ideas such as, how the artist manipulate the material or how the art represents tradition as well as change are aspects that are accounted for when criticizing art such as the Colosseum. To start, we are going to talk about how the Colosseum was built and how it was composed during the time. As stated before, the Colosseum started construction around 70 AD and was completed by 80 AD.
