My whole life I have been invested in doing what I love, focusing on my true passions, as well as finding new ones. I have been very involved in my high school, and have been lucky enough to be a part of multiple clubs and activities. Without these activities, my high school experience and life would be a lot different. I have been an active drama club member, a part of ‘Bottlecappers,’ a club advocating anti-drug, alcohol, and bullying to younger students in my district, and many other community service opportunities. I am lucky to have the opportunity to be in these activities, as they have shaped me to be the young adult I am today.

I am writing to express my interest in the biology teaching position at Bard High School Early College (BHSEC). I am currently holding a New York City initial certification in adolescent biology education as well as a Master degree in Biology. I have experience teaching at a high school as well as a college level. I believe that my experience and qualification is a great fit for this position.

Since I was fifteen I have always been drawn to answering important questions, engaging in meaningful discussions, and touching lives in intentional and personal ways. My favourite thing to do is disciple; engage in authentic conversations about life, relationships, and Jesus through a mixture of counseling, mentoring, and teaching. I have been intrigued by philosophy and theology since high school. Since then I did my undergraduate degree at Summit Pacific College, close to where I live so that I could help my family build our new house, while preparing to impact my world for Christ. At Summit, I earned a BA in Religion, with a major in Biblical Theology. In this major I took exegetical coursework, first year Hebrew and Greek, and was prepared for Graduate studies with a thesis course.

Some may find that collage is the most suited of paths to take, many problems may exist, many questions in need of answering. With Fordham University and Full Sail University is a way to reach opportunities that may motivate, excel, and improve the future as a student, and as a working member of society. Fordham University can be a very impressive offer with its many majors, goals, and challenges that can be explored and viewed. Restrictions of certain G.P.A levels can be present and reviewed by the administration of both the schools, as well as the A.C.T. and S.A.T scores. There are in schools of Fordham and Full Sail University ways to break the walls of regulation by attending various scholarships the college’s offer, even the role that may have been placed in the community oriented groups like F.C.C.L.A or even ILC can be very beneficial. The location of both Fordham University and Full Sail University reside in heavy populated urban cities which may pose a problem with for example prices as well as the likelihood of being accepted may diminish. Each pro and con of the college’s of Fordham and Full Sail will always exist with the questions awaiting to be answered, by the goal students of the future wish to find in each school, and to understand the task they wish to meet in there journey within.

Saint Louis University has always been one of the colleges that I viewed as a high-class, expensive institution; however, I never pictured myself attending such a university. On a whim, I applied to SLU this past spring. I soon discovered I had been accepted. Not only had the college accepted me, I was awarded with multiple scholarships. After much deliberation, as I had been accepted to other numerous colleges and universities, Saint Louis University was my final decision. The university’s proximity to home and renowned science department were the main components that swayed my decision.

About a week before being awarded this scholarship, I spent a school night isolated in my pitifully dark room with my eyes glued to the computer screen like a mad woman. After nearly three hours of researching about loans and calculating the amount of debt I’d be in by the time I graduate college, I began to worry profusely about my future college expenses. Finally, I broke down in tears from the mass amount of stress and feeling of hopelessness.

However, talking to a financial advisor will explore several opportunities to cover the cost of education. The financial advisor would suggest and help to apply FAFSA that will determine the eligibility of government grants, loan, and work-study funds. Second, the advisor would explore other scholarship opportunities from the school and private organizations. These scholarships require scholarship letters and essays. Therefore, preparing an excellent scholarship letter and essays are crucial. Fortunately, CU also offers a free writing center to improve the scholarship letter and essays. After the discussion with a financial counselor, the financial aspect could be efficiently managed, and nervousness would be calmed

At Pace University, I realized that childhood dreams do come true sometimes. My decision to study at Pace University was initially received with anger and fear. Ultimately, my parents put aside their feelings and decided to support me in my endeavors. I disembarked in New York soon after and was warmly welcomed by peers, faculty and staff. As a freshman at the University of Cincinnati I am trying to put myself in the best predicament to be successful for the future me. As of now I am going to China in December on a study abroad trip to get a better understanding of business world, explore the culture, and most importantly to learn and grow as an African American man. I am also in the process of getting an internship in Washington D.C. in the Spring of 2018. If I receive this Internship this will make me an even stronger applicant for future jobs and internships me achieve my overall goal of making the world a better place. UC offers a lot of resources here on campus and if taken advantage of, they could ensure success at the university. I plan on utilizing the AACRC (African-American Culture and Resource Center) the most because I feel that the students and faculty really care about my wellbeing, they have also been a home away from home making sure that I settle in at UC well. The LAC, library, MASS, academic advisor, and mentors are also amazing resources that the campus offers that I currently use and I plan on continuing to do so during my time here at the University.

The University of Pennsylvania has one resource that no other establishment in the world can offer to me: the highest caliber of intellectuals in my field. Given that I intend on attending the Wharton School of Business and with the goal of becoming a financial manager, and then rising further along corporate ladder, I must be at the absolute forefront of the field and gain as many connections as I can along the way. Not to be used, people are not tools. But, I am NOT one who is content to let themself fall into the pit of mediocrity And I recognize that the success of one individual can inspire success in those around them. Thus, is researched the different groups that students have put together for the mutual benefit of both University of Pennsylvania and the Wharton School of Business and the multitude of opportunities they present myself: investment experience, interdisciplinary education, and furthering my understanding of the Chinese economy.

I am applying for admission to the graduate program in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Carnegie Mellon University. I intend to pursue research in the fields of Signal Processing and Machine Learning. I am particularly interested in working on real world problems and applications which combine concepts from signal processing and machine learning with computational modelling and statistical inference. I am also interested in developing applications of signal and image processing using machine learning methods.
