With German forces on the run following the Allied success at Normandy and the breakout and pursuit across France, Allied forces were staged to enter Germany in late summer 1944. Both Field Marshal Montgomery and General Bradley clamored to be given the priority of effort. General Eisenhower chose Montgomery’s Operation MARKET GARDEN as the plan for action. It called for airborne forces to open the route for a ground force to move more than sixty miles up a single road, ending up north of the Rhine River near Arnhem, Netherlands. By accomplishing this task, the German Ruhr industrial heartland would be within easy grasp. But the operation failed. The ground force
No matter if you stay in for one enlistment or two, the depth of the Marine Corps is unknown so knowledge will continuously flow and it is endless. All Marines get taught the basics of being a leader in entry level training, but only a few can react to help form their trait into an elite skill only for them. In order to become the elite you have to build a "Foundation of Values" (pg.31) so that respect in all aspects will become evident between the followers and their leader(s). While setting the example it does not matter what rank you are, you still show that the standards that you hold will reflect on who you are as a person and a Marine. Each Marine chooses how their standards and ways will become beneficial not only to the Marine Corps, but to themselves also. Why do ethics make conducting a moment of decision making so hard? At some point and time every Marine will come to a point in their career or life where the grey area will be the path they choose, but will not think that it is the right way. Moral and ethic dilemmas are common more and more each day. Every Marine is taught to be the toughest both physically, and mentally.

In order to really delve into the topic of Mission Command, we must first accurately define it. So what is Mission Command? But, what does it really mean? In simplified terms, mission command is the way a leader develops and leads his subordinates into accomplishing the mission while leaving room for leaders to take ownership and initiative in completing the mission.
New Zealand is an ongoing developing country, with the population continue to grow. This means that the health sector must improve to keep on top of the amount required to establish the care to the patients. To be a Medic, and individual would complete 10 weeks of basic training, followed by 16 weeks of Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) training at Advanced Individual Training (AIT) which consisted of EMT training completing the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) test and field or trauma training. The Medic must recert the NREMT every 2 years after completing a preset number of hours of continuing education units and a Table VIII training. Medics work under their provider’s license and their scope of practice is determined by that provider and what they are comfortable with. Medics can take additional trainings such as Advanced Cardivascular Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) just to name a few. Medics can administer IV Fluids and some medications with provider approval. Provide basic CPR among other things provider specific, such as some teach their medics how to do chest tubes. The military in conjunction with schools offer hybrid programs in nursing to medics. They also have programs like IPAP for Physician Assistant (PA)
You should only pass on the information in your scene sheet and do not fabricate extra information: When you’re playing a cast character and a player character asks you a question for which you do not know the answer don’t make up the answer. For example, if you’re a soldier, you are asked the name of your leader, and you’ve not been briefed on the name, just make the in-game response of, “I don’t know!” If you’re pressed, say I follow his instructions, and point to the scene leader. Never step out-of-game and say, “The writer didn’t tell me.”. The reason we do not make things up is because it can create complications with plots as the writer would have no clue what you were doing and you won’t know all of the details with every plot to
Taking initiative as a medic can be the difference between someone 's life and death. History has shown us innumerable examples of how a medics initiative saved multiple lives. The Medal of Honor has been awarded to medics who have displayed the greatest amount of courage and initiative they could. If individual soldiers that make up a medical platoon refused to take initiative, there would be significant and many more mistakes displayed by the platoon. A medic 's actual duties of treating a combat casualty or managing patients in an aid station, initiative is required to save lives or save time. Medics more than most are required to display initiative to accomplish the mission, or to move forward in the Army, especially at 2/503.

History of MHS – According to Kongstvedt (2007), the history of military health care dates back to the establishment of the Army Medical Department on July 27, 1775 and congress established the position of the nation’s first Director General and Chief Physician which later evolved to the office of the Surgeon General of the United States. One of the first unique features of the military health system is the act that was approved by the congress ordering the deduction of 20 cents a month from the salary of Sailors and Marines for their care in civilian treatment facilities. I personally consider this as the first “insurance payment system” long before the birth of HMOs. As the military expands, they eventually assigned one Surgeon General for each branch of the military except Coast Guard (Coast Guard was under the Department of Transportation and eventually became under Department of Homeland Security after 9/11). When sequestration took in effect, all branches were consolidated under one health care system: Military Health System.
