So you’ve decided to travel to a cool vacation spot, you packed all what you need and you’re ready to go, ready for a new adventure. Well that’s great but here’s the most important thing you shouldn’t forget to do before hitting the road. Tell somebody where you’re going. It’s quit a very simple thing to do, but it can save your life if something unexpected happens while you’re traveling. Whether it’s your friend, parents or anyone, just make sure that someone knows where you’re going. The true story movie 127 hours describes the delima that Aron Ralston found himself into because of this tiny detail, he didn’t inform anyone about his destinations, so after he had that accident, he found himself alone without anybody knowing where he is or
The film The 13th, written by Ava Duvernay , based on the Thirteenth Amendment and explores the intersection of race, justice and mass incarnation in the United States. The Thirteenth Amendment formally abolished slavery however, the film talks about the amendments exception clause. This states that slavery is illegal except as a punishment for a crime. Duvernays documentary gives us a compelling view on how the modern-day prison/labor system relates to slavery and is framed by the Black Live Matter movement.
In the early 1900’s silent films amazed audiences with images, later talkies impressed with sound, today we have 3D. As technology continues to evolve so too will film genres. Genres, while having some shared characteristics, also differ in terms of stylistic devices used. After a prolonged amount of reasoning, we’ve come to reach an agreement to convey a road trip from New Jersey to California. We chose these two states because of the amount of distance between the two and because of the long adventures that could come along. Even though we know our destination we could not just get up and drive without formulating any type of preparation beforehand. Personally, the best way to fully succeed a non-stressful trip is to formulate everything you would need to know beforehand. With that being said, Byron and I had to research all the possible information we need on this trip. Join us on the journey as we construct and strive to California.
The film Rudy is a motivational film about a young man who has a desire deep inside him of attending and playing football for the Fighting Irish at the University of Notre Dame. The son of an oil refinery worker and one of fourteen children Daniel Rudy Ruettiger had to overcome discouragement and anguish to reach the peak of success. It took many years of fierce determination to overcome obstacles and criticism yet Rudy never gave in. As fans chanted “Rudy” he sacked the quarterback in the last 27 seconds of the only play and the only game of his college football career. He is the only player in the schools' history to be carried off the field on his teammates' shoulders.
* Pack your personal luggage and leave it in the car. If there's enough room left in the car or van, you can take your laptop and LCD TV with you. Anyway, if you have kids, don't take the LCD TV in your car as they will be playing around until the journey ends. Talk with your neighbors and inform them about your leaving.
“Doctor, the trauma patient is ready and prepped for surgery”. “CODE BLUE, CODE BLUE”. “OK Ms. Forsett, these are some papers you will have to sign”. “Trauma team activation, Trauma 1 activation”. These are the most common sayings that you would hear in a hospital emergency room. If you an outsider looking in, this seems like an unorganized workplace, but to the doctor's it’s just organized chaos. Everything seems to be alright and seems adventurous, but the truth be told, doctors only spend 29 percent seeing patients and 49 percent on just paperwork and electronic health keeping records. With this much time being spent on paperwork, is the modern day doctor just a record keeper or are they there to be a second lifesaver to someone’s “God”,

The documentary we viewed in class is called Thirteenth and is a harrowing deconstruction of the United States current criminal justice system. This one hour and forty minute documentary directed by Ava Duvernay digs deep into the corruption, stagnation, and mismanagement of our countries prison and justice system. Showing how racial prejudice is still alive and well today by examining how we treat criminals in the U.S. This documentary was released in 2016 as a Netflix original and caused quite the uproar. As an indie documentary many people expected very little from Thirteenth, however they were unpleasantly shocked by this scathing dissection of criminality in America. It makes use of the voice of many experts to make a clear point, the
Finally, before heading out on your road trip and while on your road trip, it is a wise idea to check the pressure in your tires and make sure that it is at the correct level. Having been on an eight hour road trip punctuated by outdoor camping, there are quite a few items that I ended up forgetting that ended up being monumentally useful. Others were just nice to have given the circumstances and in case anything unforseen occurred. In any case, having just a few of these items can help make sure your road trip is a good one.

The Founder is a Non-fictional movie as it is based on the story of MacDonald’s, and how it rose to the top. The story starts off with a small business owner by the name of Ray Kroc, we see how he struggles to sell his product day to day until on day when two brothers place an order for eight of Ray’s milkshake mixers, this leaves Ray curious and thus he goes to investigate how a small shop could possibly require eight multi milkshake mixers. This leads ray to find a one of a kind revolutionary fast food restaurant, whereby you don’t get served at your cars window like all the other fast food establishments where they were more formally known as drivein’s, however “fast food” restaurant would not be a very applicable name for the driveins,

A well-known phrase in the English language is, “a picture is worth a thousand words.” This catchy slogan is commonly used to convey emotion, individuality, and personality in an image. In the film industry, creating movie posters will indefinitely be a part of the phrase above. According to Alexander (2011), “a movies poster encompasses the message and feeling of the film, it should be the main source of attention for the release of a new movie” (n.p.). For this project I chose the genre, Drama. Within this genre, I chose three movies that are very diverse to analyze. The movies that I chose were, Holes, Gone Girl, and The Shawshank Redemption.
