The main objective of the paper is to compare the traditional business management principles and practices with those found in today’s technology-intensive organizations. The pertinent ideas in this study are expected to be of high value for the researchers and practitioners in exploring the future context of Technology Management.
The common Principles and Practices found in today’s Technology-intensive Organizations primarily focus on: 1. Technology as primary factor in wealth creation. 2. Managing systems to create acquire and exploit technology. 3. Research, development and innovation.
Technology Management has to be properly planned, cultivated and implemented. Problems needing Technology Management solutions have to be identified; alternative solutions have to be generated; analyzed and evaluated.
